John Barlycorn. This book is very interesting, it makes a person want to get an education and have a few drinks while doing so. My Great Grandfather passed a copy of this book down to my Grandfather, Father and to me. We are all drinkers of moonshine, rum and scotch. I drank more in my youth than did Jack London and know what he means by surviving alcohols scorches. The maggots do crawl when the first few sips are taken and the white logic does try to depress you. Be careful if you choose to drink alcohol because it can play tricks on your reasoning, it is ok to not drink in any situation and choosing to not drink can be an admirable position. I drink scotch and beer only and every day. I have not been drunk in years and regard a hangover as a complete waste of a good day. One cold beer after a hard days work is worth a million cases of beer on vacation. Don’t drink and drive, you could kill someone innocent very easily and ruin many peoples lives including your own.
