wow. Amazin book, loved every milisecond of it!!!

Full Marks. This novel tells the story of Horus' betrayal of Sanguinias, and very well told it is too. Swallow describes the scenes so well one can see them vividly in the mind's eye. If you are in doubt over the steep price tag, don't be. I couldn't put this down. All in all, an absolutely brilliant piece of sic-fi writing, admittedly not intellectual like Asimov, but far more entertaining.

Great book. Best one I’ve read so far keeps a fine balance of suspense and action

A good addition. Surprising it took this long to get round to the blood Angels in the heresy series - I suppose they have to try and explain away why they vanish for most of the 7 year conflict and nobody wanted to dive right in with that! This book does a fine job of evoking some of the more epic religious style imagery you expect from the Horus Heresy - rather than too much emphasis on battle tactics and tech fetish nerd detailing. On the downside the Blood Angels and Sanguinius do come across as a bit dim witted - falling for just about every trap no matter how obvious. But they can't all be geniuses as well as soldiers I suppose. Definitely one of the better Astartes-kill-everything stories so far.
