Five Stars. Now that so much of the background and backstories have been revealed, explored and explained, this novel sets the stage for the continuing development of Doc and Mia as mates. The entire book is fascinating and pretty fast paced. Reading this series is so rewarding in sharing with the life's ups and downs of the Clearwater crew. Thanks to the great editors and thanks to Mr. Rennie. Write on, please.

Please hire a better editor. I have really enjoyed Joe Holiday and his ever growing group of friends, relationships, and business partners. Although the stories are good, I find myself looking passed the occasional grammatical or spelling errors. It seems to get worse with each book. I am almost convinced Al is using one of those software packages that writes what he's saying. It is extremely frustrating when I have to reread something two or three times for clarification because of bad editing. I'm not giving up the series, yet, but really wish the book didn't have so many errors.
