Pretty good story with bad editing. The story was good, except ther were a few discrepancies in it. I also found the editing to get worse reading closer to the end of the book.
Love it. Great book love the characters and story
Clearwater Journals. Very fun book to read even though it needs some proof reading to give it a little more professionalism. Great story.
Clearwater Journals. I really liked the story. It had humor and suspense and a good plot. I would hAve liked it a lot better without the profanity.
Nice guy. Good story, lead character quite a character! Needs to be proofread clerical errors, which I did (a pet peeve of mine), but I'd like to read more about this Joe.
Clearwater. Very good read!
Clearwater Journals. Great read! Love the characters. Just enough love interest to make it interesting for us ladies, but a book men would also enjoy.
Clearwater Journals. Fast moving action - lots of heavy hitting fiction. Characters were well introduced in a humorous way that gave credence to the prose. No loss of empathy to the romantic portion of serious relationship. A good read!
Good book. Very readable book although there were times when there was a bit of rambling going on. Also, there were editing problems. But the story was pretty good, character build was good. Overall good book. Thanks for writing it.
Clearwater. I could not put it down!!! It's got a great story line it flows well and it's never boring!!
Clearwater Journals. Great read
Clearwater Journals. This series had me hooked from the moment I began reading the free ebook all the way to the 36th book Clearwater Deception!I could not put it down! This is one of the few authors that can make me laugh out loud! Great series.
Great read. I have to say I really enjoyed this book. Had trouble putting it down! Can't wait to read all of his other books.
Clearwater Journals. It kept me reading because it was suspenseful
Clearwater Journals. Excellent- humor, mystery, intrigue, and law and order all rolled into this action packed mystery. Best book I've read in a while. Highly recommend!
Clearwater Journals. Tough story to get into but a pretty good read once you do. Nice to have good police characters for a change.
Absolutely five stars. To Mr. Al Rennie and his editors, thank you very much for a very enjoyable read. I have my favorite authors and I read others while waiting for their new ones. This book left me anxious, worried, empathetic, and sad at the whole outlook. But, it follows a natural progression to an acceptable outcome. To be sure, this is not her author I will put on my not so patiently waiting list. I feel the beginnings of new friends, family and antagonist. Please, Mr. Rennie, keep up this level of story telling. Thank you.
CrimeReader. Ending was good. Started off really slow and was hard to get into the story line. It felt like forever to get to the action.
Superb Journals. Clearwater Journals is one of the tightest, most thoughtful mysteries I've read in a long time - even if I suspend some belief at forensics.
Good. This book was a good read and a few twists make it even better. Going for the next one now.
A Fun read with several good twists.. I enjoyed reading this. Good characters, and lots of twists.
Clearwater journals. Great read a little slow in the beginning but keep me interested till the end
Awesome. A must read series!
Clearwater journals. Enjoyed very much. Was a good read. Will be reading more books of the series!
Very witty!. Loved it! It had humor, criminals, homicides, serious mystery and just plain good reading!
Great hook. Being a freebie, I downloaded it thinking it could be a dud. Was I ever wrong! When I say, "great hook", I mean that I'm now hooked and will most likely buy some of the author's books In the future. Shades of Elmore Leonard.
Clearwater Journals. A little Wordy. Will read the next one
A Great read.. I really enjoyed this book a great deal. I had downloaded it as one of iTunes free series starters and had put off reading it for a while while I was finishing up a couple of new John Sanford books. Now I'm sorry I waited so long to read it. The editing leaves a bit to be desired, but at $3.99 a book or less, I am willing to overlook that in light of the fact that the stories are quite good. Anyway, I'm now up to the 12th book in the series and looking forward to more.
Clearwater Journals. Enjoyed this book. Kept my interest from beginning to end.
Loved This Book!!!. Great read, what a page turner, couldn't put it down. Loved the engaging characters, the story line, & the way it was able to tap into all of your emotions. Enjoy the ride!
Great reading. I have never read any of his books. But I really enjoyed this book. You feel like you are right there with everyone in the book, living the story. I plan to star treat more of the Clearwater books!
Clearwater journals. Thoroughly enjoyed this story and am looking forward to starting the sequel, Clearwater Diaries. Characters and storyline were fun and I had not figured out the "who dun it" completely until I neared the end. Also enjoyed some of the factual references regarding the area and local restaurants. Brought back some old memories of visits I have made over the years.
Excellent!. Good plot, surprise ending, great characterization. I only found 6 errors, so practically perfect for an epublished book. I highly recommend this author to mystery lovers
Clearwater Journals Review. Absolutely Spellbinding! I could NOT put this book down until I finished it. The characters were alive and real. Just a fantastic job of writting!
Clearwater journals. Great read ... only wish I'd taken more time to absorb the details instead of needing to flip the page! Guess I'll just have to re-read it!!
No More For Me. Well, I won't be reading any more of this series. It wasn't awful, but close. The plot was fine - it was the writing style that left me slightly bored.
Clearwater Journals. Exciting! It kept me guessing until nearly the end. I understand spelling differences because of Canadian influences, but author truly needs a better proof reader. Lots of misspelled words which would have passed spellcheck, but made no sense; you for your, a tale man, (tall?) and missing words. I found myself highlighting literary mistakes....but I still enjoyed the book. Thanks for a good read.
Alright.. The book was alright. I agree with most of the other reviews when it comes to the grammar. It's not bad, and I wasn't bored but I wouldn't read it again. /:
clearwater journals. very good book, kept me reading to the very end.
Amazing Book! and only the beginning of a great series. Awesome story line, complete page turner, can't put down kinda book. I'm on book 11 now and so far they have all been that way. Keep up the suspense Mr. Rennie!
“Clearwater Journals By Al Rennie. Good new (to me) detective series. Main character a new take on Travis McGee only in Clearwater, FL. Story moves along well with just enough tough guy. Hard term development. I will definitely buy the next one.
Clearwater Journals. Good read. Needs some proof reading for proper spelling and grammar.
Clearwater journals. A very good read lived on the beach not too far away yup know the streets the gun shop hey the need this Joe in Chicago I'll read another enjoyed it had to stay up till 3am to finish the book was worth it Keep up the good work Al.
Clearwater Journals. A quick enjoyable read-I'll give the storyline an easy "A", and the proofreading an easier "F", for an overall "C". Do any authors bother to "proofread" anymore?

A romp. A readable romp! Ok it's not entirely believable, the twist is obvious pretty early on but it's readable and worth the money. I'll almost certainly buy the sequel so that should be a fair indication.
Engaging. An interesting story. Really enjoyed it especially Joe and Mia's characters. Thank you.
Clearwater Jornals. Brilliant story with wonderful characters. Highly recommend it
Brilliant book. Couldn't put it down!
Mr. Nice easy read not to complicating but enjoyed
Ms. Enjoyed this book, quite a few quirky characters and Doc is just enough of a hero to get you on his side. It doesn't glamourise the seedy side of crime, and was actually very gritty in parts. Will definitely read more, interested enough in Joe to see where he leads us.
Clearwater journal. Didn't want the book to end couldn't put it Dow

Clearwater journals. Thoroughly enjoyable. Couldn't put down. Will endeavour to read more in this series
Good compelling read. Good fast read with good plot and unsuspecting twist at the end.
Great read. Great free read, will be looking for other books by this author.
Clearwater Journals. I've read everyone of the "Clearwater" series right up to "Clearwater Foley" and have thoroughly enjoyed everyone of them, good stories, great humour well paced very enjoyable reading. My only criticism would be that some of them just end too quickly😊😊😊 Fortunately Al manages to keep up a good pace for releases, having said that I've started re-reading from the beginning, hence my review & still a good read second time around, that says a lot in my mind to good books.... Keep up the good work Al. Thank you...

Yawn. Good to help with falling asleep. A few chapters in and I just cannot get into it and have no interest in reading the rest.
Clearwater Journals. Fun, fun book!! Exaggerated, but a good read. Thank you!
Surprised. For the first half of the book it was hard for me to get into. The last half of the book I couldn't put it down. I now am looking forward to the next book. Side note: proof reading needs improvement . SR
Entertaining Read. It took a while for me to get into it. It started out real slow, however the ending was anything but. A bit of editing would go a long way.
