Exquisitely good.... Those who read the first Letty book may be a little nervous about trying out a second one. Although **I** liked the first one, other Sandford fans in the family didn't. Rest assured, Sandford has hit his stride with this second book. Out of all the Davenport/Flowers books, this one easily ranks among his best efforts. Not sure if more Letty books are planned, but if he does, Sandford has introduced a solid set of new characters to build great stories upon.

SO good!!. Love Letty and the skills taught her by Lucas. Great story line and always believable. Loved it.

Sharply Written, Vintage Sandford. As is usually the case with a John Sandford novel, this crisply written second Letty Davenport book brings together all of the things you love about his work: a relevant and timely plot, good character development and sharp dialogue. Does anyone do snappier dialogue better than Sandford? Highly recommended and particularly connected to the current state of affairs.

Not Sandford’s best?. Liked the first Letty book and was anxiously awaiting volume #2. Very disappointing, too complicated, too many characters, nothing to develop Letty’s psyche! Is Sandford going the route of James Patterson? I hope not!

Simply terrific. I’ve read just about all of Sanford’s books and this is quite possibly the best. The best action movie and the best dialogue you’ve ever read. Highly recommended!

Horrible. Horrible book unless you want another “women are strong/powerful and men are either weak or pigs.” I can’t believe this was a Sandford book! Very disappointed!!

Poor. Nowhere near as good as the previous Davenport books. Poor writing in many respects.

Sandford remains amazing. As a reader of every one of the Lucas And Virgil (and Kidd) novels, I hold Letty to a very high standard. I was very pleasantly surprised that I loved the first Letty novel and this one somehow continues to uphold the standard.

Can’t wait until the next one. It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a book this much. A well thought out plot with twists and turns that surprise and add depth without seeming like filler. A true page turner from start to finish.

Letty just keeps getting better. A female version of a young Lucas Davenport. As usual very well written well plotted with a current events twist. Read it.

Terrible. Did John Sandford really write this? I’ve read at least 3 dozen of his other books and they’ve all been outstanding, but this one was stupid, had poor character development, and an idiotic plot line. I guess no one is perfect…

Slow!. Drags out a short story. First Sanford book I didn’t like, and I’ve ready nearly all of them.

Dark Angel. I don’t agree with others who wouldn’t give this book five stars….this is one of his best and I’ve red them all over the years. So many anxious moments as the plot unfolds and turns corners. Keep up the great story telling my young man…

Loved it!. Negative reviews are from folks who are married to a male hero. I love seeing Letty grow as a character. I almost skipped it after reading reviews. Glad I didn’t. I guess educated progressive women with guns piss off a certain audience.

Just like the last Letty book. Same ol same ol. Some entity against the government, big shootout, the end. Skip this one if you’re a Sandford fan.

Not my book. I’ve read all of John Sandfords books, but couldn’t even finish this one. Started out good, but the characters and plot became so convoluted I had to stop. Hoping next book I better.
