In my top ten. Quite possibly one of the best debut novels I have ever read. I have recommended it to everyone, especially those interested interested in trying out this genre.

Well Crafted Spy Novel. This was a fun read and a well crafted spy novel. Good for Ludlum fans and cloak and dagger book aficionados.

Great book. One of the better books I’ve read in awhile. Complex storyline but the author shepherds you through gently. Characters are fleshed out very well, halfway through you really feel like you actually know and more importantly, understand them.

The greatest. The greatest book I’ve ever read. I have just finished “I Am Pilgrim” for perhaps the 4th time. It won’t be the last. Eloquent, emotional, spiritual, exhausting (in the best possible way). Sure, perhaps a coincidence or two that stretch credibility but it is well worth it to allow for the possibility that those events could have occurred. Can’t put it down.

Elegantly woven story with fast paced, thrilling plot lines to keep you guessing.. The detail explanation of the consequences of living a secret life were enthralling. Enjoyed every character nothing was wasted. Loved the ending. You we’re allowed to relax and continue to understand more as the author continued to weave ideas into the story without being rushed. The excruciatingly detailed descriptions of specific elements of the story were also much appreciated.

Excellent. This is a great story. It is extremely well written and told by the main character. The Pilgrim is an extraordinary person that is a highly trained intelligence agent in pursuit of an illusive terrorist. I enjoyed it very much!

The most fast pasted books i have ever read. The story telling in this book is incredible, the author digs into an incredible amount of detail while also keeping a dizzying pace. I have read this book twice and loved it both times.

Wow. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I was having a hard time getting into this book until a third of a way in. The more I read, the harder it was to put down. I finished the second half in record time, re-reading the last few chapters. Hope to read more by Terry Hayes!

Terrific espionage/detective thriller. This is a hell of a debut. Sprawling, there’s a labyrinthine journey through Pilgrim’s memories interwoven with the present-day caper, but none of it is extraneous, this guy uses every part of the buffalo.

Just Excellent. Reading I Am Pilgrim was a just excellent experience. I fell in love with Terry Hayes’ style of prose and how the story was built. I am certain I will read every thing Terry has written, probably twice.

I Am Pilgram. This is a five star book. I could not put it down. It is long and when your old like me it sometimes is hard to remember where you left off while reading a long book. Not this one. Mr. Hayes please do not wait long in writing your second book. Your protagonist is great: please keep him in your next story.

Breathtaking. I was glad this was a long novel because I never wanted the story to end. This is among the best of the best in the genre. With flashes of literary brilliance and a pulsing plot that twists and turns across a massive stage -- my only complaint is that there isn't a sequel yet!

I Am Pilgrim. Sensational. Best thriller I have read in many years. Page turner, like everybody says. He runs around the world his mind never stopping and his target is his equal in determination and wit. One of the best ever. I also had to take a vacation day to finish it and then dreaded finishing the book.

Intriguing. The book was hard to get into but I believe it was because I was used to reading non thought provoking novels. Just mindless entertainment. This book made me think and envision what was happening. Good or bad. Loved the book.

First Person: Singularly Good. This story of the reluctant spy, told in first person, follows a very personal path of risk, remorse, and redemption. Seemingly unrelated threads weave together a pattern that brings order from chaos, meaning out of absurdity. Not exactly what one would expect from a thriller, but thrilling nonetheless.

Cringe. Main character has a lack of personality & there’s so much islamophobia, I had to stop reading

This is a Masterpiece. One of the finest books I have ever read. It is very long, which surprises at first. But this is a long and complex plot. The length is needed. The writing is excellent. And most amazing, at the end, three seemingly unrelated events in three different parts of the world get beautifully tied together. It also has great suspense. The very best. Make reading it a priority.

Good read. Great story! But not as captivating as I'd hoped.

Awful book. Avoid. A completely ridiculous story. I should have stopped reading after the first chapter. Quite apart from the ludicrous story line and unbelievable characters, the author gets the minor details wrong again and again that is just annoying. For example using oxygen in SCUBA tanks? Come on. A waste of time.

Exceptional. One of the best espionage books I’ve read. Up there with the best of Ludlum and Trevanian.

One of the best novel's I've read in a long time. I haven't been captivated by a good suspence book in a very long time. It's a page turner till the last page! Loved every chapter, never skiped a line.. I hope this author writes many more books.
