Exceptionally Magic. I read the novella that takes place pretty much right before this book and I wanted to read more. I had high expectations for this. The premise sounded really cool and the involvement of the fay. Some plot elements were a bit hard to follow along with. The idea that time can be a second or a hundred years kept dragging away from me. The primary characters were developed pretty well. My biggest complaint would be that at the end Ben and Selkie just sort of fall apart, their entire character up to that point gets shattered. It felt too sudden and too convenient for Ben to leave the picture. I would have liked more of a build up. There was a lot of whimsical fancy in this book that kept me interested though. I'll be continuing the story in the next novella and the concluding novel. I hope that the characters are able to be put back together after that dramatic ending.
