The perfect nanny. This book had no ending it stopped mid story no conclusion what so ever an epic waste of money. Absolutely no cohesion between majority of book and last two chapters

Disappointed. This book was very scattered. It was hard to make out timing of events, visualize the characters, and hard to follow who was speaking and at what point in time they were in. I felt it had a lot of added things that in the end had no point to the story at all and just left me with more questions. The ending was very disappointing and unsettling but not in a cliff hanger way but just a missed opportunity for a better ending. -ps I can’t spell or right well so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Enthralling Read!. Very resonant of the NYC nanny murder. So sad to read while knowing where it ends.

Unique Thriller. This novel was eery from the first pages, engrossing, and heartbreaking. The nanny is at once loathsome and loving. How? That’s the power of this uber-talented novelist. I did not want this fast-paced story to end.

Not one I’d recommend. Aside from being a dark and depressing story, her writing style was hard for me to stay engaged in and seemed to run in different directions. I found myself skipping a head and the end was abrupt.

The Perfect Nanny. Having been a NY professional who hired a nanny to care for our newborn through the age of 2, I appreciated everything about this novel. The author presents the social issues judiciously, which may explain the low star reviews. The Perfect Nanny isn’t the salacious read most expect from this genre imo. It isn’t a good fit for someone looking for a graphic true crime, villain gets what she deserves type of story. I found it a compelling read and had no issues with the ending. The social issues that led to the tragedy were perfectly executed. That’s the story.

A deep psychological look into the soul of a woman who was traumatized as a child, wife, and mother is “TheNanny.” The first page will have you wondering who and why such a ghastly crime was committed. By the end of the book you will know who and why, such a tragedy. A very insightful read.

Kept waiting for more. The book kept my interest but I kept waiting for more insight into the characters and then it just ended. Bought the paperback for my mom yesterday but will return it.

Lost in translation. Apparently this version was translated from the original French version. It shows. But not the fault of the author. Compelling story. Do we ever really know the "strangers" in our daily lives? 😳

Great, but not for everyone. The book is slow-paced, and sometimes a difficult read. You have to be able to embody the character and notice the minute details which give away some of the chilling thoughts. People complain about the end but I actually think it pieced it together nicely, it’s just not your average ending and not for those used to reading novels where everything has a proper explanation. This book imitates reality, in which we do not always have all the pieces to understand why things happen.

Horrible ending. Terrible waste of time. No plot twist, everything on page one tells you everything about the book. Worst book I’ve read.

The Perfect Nanny. So many details that appeared they may be significant and had no connection to the storyline. The last two chapters are disconnected and the ending is abrupt. Leaving the reader to wonder or guess the ending would be acceptable, but this appears incomplete.

Horrible. I bought this book thinking it would be as good as they’ve hyped it up to be. It wasn’t. It was torture to read. I hate the way it’s written. I hate the narrative. The story is basic and predictable, didn’t need to be dragged on. I really hope she doesn’t make a sequel. I would give it zero stars but that’s not an option. Too 10 worst reads. The woman in cabin 10 is also up there as equally bad reads. Horrible. Just horrible.

Captivating. This author knows life of a mother, a nanny,a child in a street, in apartment and in countryside now and long before current time. I still wonder, how she knows all these little thoughts and emotions in my head!!!

Anti-climactic. Didn’t enjoy the ending of the book, started out very strong but Felt like it cut out the majority of the details.

Not suspenseful, not worth it. There was no suspense, no sense of drama. I kept expecting it to pick up and get interesting, but it never did. Just a sad story that gets sadder as it goes on, but without any climax or surprises.
