Normal. It had the makings of a good book. I feel it was much longer than it needed to be. Not sure the conversations between the characters were accurate in the way teens would actually talk to each other. Think it would have been a better book if Cameron had been allowed to be her one. It certainly wasn't a happily ever after book, but don't think I want to wade through the second one to find out if that happens.

Great book!. I could not put this book down! I can not wait to read the next one!

BEST BOOK. You flip the page over and over, and before you know it it's over. The best book to read for anyone who wants to know or wants to relate to teenage issues or life's. It is great for a book to just read in general. This book will make you sad, happy, and shocked all in one, but you'll never want to put it down.

Strong words. Deals with a situation that is not ideal for any teenager. Unfortunately the use of cursewords it’s a little heavy.

Absolutely LOVED it!!. This was such a deeply emotional story. I loved the way the author let you in on Rory's past through the flashback chapters, and it gave me such an intimate understanding of her character. There's no black and white in this story, even the villain has endearing moments! I kinda fell in love with this best friend and never could have guessed what happened to end their friendship, but the delicious Sam "Cap" is what kept me reading into the wee hours! This book is full of twists and turns, and it's heartbreakingly romantic (and sexy!). It had me completely captivated, I highly, highly recommend!

Heart clenching. This book was beautiful and inspiring. I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series.

Normal. I don't understand the high reviews for this book. This could've been a book to empower women not to take abuse but instead it played right into the victim mentality. Rory gave me whiplash with her back and forth emotions and Sam was too young to take on the burden of everyone's issues. I struggled and skipped to get to the end. I wasn't impressed and won't continue the series. I could care less how it ends.

A Must Read. Normal captures a coming of age story that every reader can relate to. Rory and Sam's relationship unfolds in a way that is genuine and real-- I found myself struggling with how I would handle some of the situations that Rory was in. Their relationship is complicated to say the least, and I appreciate that the author gives the reader a chance to understand Rory's past as well as her present. I totally had my mind made up about the ending when I started reading, but was completely caught off guard when I finished the book. The authors writing style keeps you guessing, feeling vulnerable, and unable to put the book down. Do yourself a favor-- this one's a must read.

Loved!. I needed a fast read to pass time when I got my hair done, little did I know I would fall in love with the whole something more series (including Tucker, Carl, Bits and David’ love story). I loved Rory and Sam’s story, although there were many times where my heart hurt for the both of them, especially the ending of book 1, I couldn’t seem to put the book down. I would recommended reading this book to someone who is trying to jump back into reading, I just finished college and was excited to get back into reading since I have time and this did the trick!!! I fell in love! It would be awesome if Danielle Pearl would write Rory and Sam’s continued story when their 24-26 years old. I would like to know if Robin would get released and finally let Rory or continue to follow her. I would also like to know if Rory ended up following her dreams in helping young women .

MUST reas. Wow, I can’t tell you how good and well written this story is. It moved me. I like the fact it wasn’t rushed. I thoroughly read this book...about violence, healing, trust and love.

Page turner. This book was pretty good. Definitely keeps you turning the pages. But there were a lot of typos and man, was it repetitive. I skipped over several pages along the way because it was just obnoxious filler. But it was interesting enough that i wanted to keep reading. So all in all it was a good story, just needs better editing. I may even give the second one a try.

Outstanding. I was recommended this book by my girlfriend which made me weary at first. However I was pleasantly surprised with the story line which was high paced and filled with intrigue. "Normal" is the authors first book but she definitely does a great job and I look forward to reading her work in the future.

Way beyond normal!. I couldn't put this book down from the second I started it to the second I finished, and still wanted more!!! I was immediately connected to Rory's story, struggle, and her intense connection to Sam. I found myself laughing, smiling, feeling angry, and even crying. On top of the amazing story, the novel is so beautifully written that it is virtually impossible not to enjoy!! I read this book in two days and am already dying for the sequel!! I absolutely recommend this book to anyone and everyone who enjoys a well-written, exciting, unpredictable love story, and so much more!

500 + pages. If you are not going to finish what you stared why start it.I hate books that have no ending !!!

Normal. I have read hundreds of ebooks and have never felt the need to write a review. This book merits one. It is an amazing story, written so poignantly that I had a hard time putting the book down. I can't wait to read the next book. Exceptional!

An emotionally heartbreaking story. Normal is such an emotionally heartbreaking book. I got sucked in pretty quickly and did not want to put it down. The story is told from Aurora's (Rory) point of view and the chapters mainly alternate between the past and present. Our main character, Rory, is a typical teenage girl in high school. At times I found her extremely relatable and others simply annoying. Even though I would like to think that a young woman in her position might make different choices, I 100% believe that this could and has happened to countless young ladies out there. Her naivete and lack of experience coupled with no strong emotional family support/relationships besides her male best friend, Cam, left her trying to navigate this madness relatively on her own. Piecing together Rory's history was gut wrenching and painful, even though what was revealed was heavily foreshadowed in the book. There were times while reading where I was cringing and just felt plain sick. I was right there with Rory, experiencing every unimaginable second. This is truly a testament to how well this book is written. I really enjoyed the other characters in the book, especially Sam. On the outside he appears to be the perfect all American high school jock, but after you peel those layers away, you see that he also has demons to battle. I loved watching his friendship with Rory blossom and bloom, after such a rocky start. He earns every moment of trust and Rory definitely did not make it easy on him. He also has some very swoony moments that had me grinning ear to ear. Another character I loved was Carl. She is such an amazingly supportive girlfriend and her faith and trust in Rory never falter. She never pushes or prods Rory about her past, but instead allows her to fill in the blanks when she's ready. Carl's scenes with Tuck, Sam's best friend, also help lighten the sometimes very heavy moments in the book. I was very thankful that Rory had such a true friend to rely on, unlike her past experiences with Lacey. I can't talk about the other characters in this book, without mentioning Cam. Sigh. I don't want to be spoilery, but my heart is still breaking for him and I loved his relationship with Rory. Mr. Pine, Mayor Forbes, and Robin. Wow. In the worst possible way, wow. Again, I don't want to get too spoilery, but seriously, I would not have minded if bodily harm had come their way. Their actions and words were so heinous and atrocious. I just don't even have the words. Normal is an amazing book. It does have some triggers that will undoubtedly offend and turn readers off, so please know that going into this book. I am excited to continue on with the series, especially since the book ended on a cliffhanger, which is part of the reason it's not a 5 star read for me. It seemed unnecessary to end the book that way, especially since the chapters leading up to it were so emotionally charged. Those chapters and the resulting conflict also felt a little too contrived. Overall though, I really enjoyed Normal and can't wait to read ReCap and Okay. *Many thanks to the author for providing this ARC free of charge*

Great read!. This is part 1 of a 2 part story. The rest of the story is in the second book names « okay ». You can’t really read this without reading the second book. This first one ends on a cliff hanger. I really enjoyed this book. You’re on edge the whole time trying to understand and piece together Rory’s past. There is suspense, romance, sadness... everything to make it a great story. I can’t help but wonder how fun it would be if author made another book, twisting off of this, a world where Cam was still alive and what he and Rory’s love story would have been.

Excellent!. I decided to read this book a couple years ago on a whim and instantly fell in love! I have since read it multiple times a year, every year. While it deals with some very serious, and hard to read, situations at times, I absolutely love the characters and the way they develop throughout the story. This is one of my favorite books and I highly recommend reading it!

Best book I’ve ever read. I love this genre and Normal is by far the best one in it. It’s probably the best book I’ve ever read. Rory is easy to love, explaining her experiences in a way that helps you to understand her while still being irrational and emotional at times. Sam is charming and protective and takes care of her without knowing her past. I fell in love with them instantly.

Too long. The story itself is good but it is repetitive. the dialogues are monotonous, sometimes I even think that I went back some pages in the book because is the same over and over.

Powerful. This book is so powerful because it shows how easy it is to blame yourself for things that are out of you’re control. And how pushing people away doesn’t help. You have to figure those things out for yourself.

Great!!!!. SO GOOD! I'm so addicted to this story, I don't even know what to do with myself now that I've finished it. I guess start it over! The only thing is it doesn't say when the sequel is coming out and I'm desperate to know what happens next!

Absolutely amazing. This book series is one of my favorites. The characters are so engaging and it’s so hard to put the book down because of always wanting to know what Rory’s past was and what was going to happen next. I found myself crying near the end (don’t want to spoil!) because of how much I loved the characters.

Great book!!!!!!. Really well written, well developed story I was surprised by how well written this story was considering it is a debut novel. The characters are extremely well developed, making you feel like they're all old friends (and enemies). I fell in love right along with the heroine, Rory, and some of the scenes are so dramatic and heartbreaking that they literally had me up at night. I was very impressed with this book.

Normal. This book was far from just being normal! I couldn’t put it down. It really touches on some sensitive subjects and can be quite uncomfortable to read some of the upsetting scenes but that what makes a good writer. Worth the read

Phenomenal. I do not think I can review this read and do it justice, but here goes- this read grabbed me from the start it is beautifully written and goes at exactly the right pace for all that happens. I won't lie it was difficult to read in parts and my heart broke for Rory, at times I wanted to scream at the pages as it was difficult to understand why she stayed and continued to let this happen, but the way this was written helped me understand and sympathise and love Rory all the more. Now let me mention Sam, wow, handsome, understanding and just perfect. The only downside is the cliffhanger, have purchased Okay so no more from me till I finish.........a truly must read.

A rollercoaster of a read. An emotional and gripping story, beautifully written. I really didn’t want to put it down and will be buying the next book as soon as I finish this review! I have never left a review on a book before (I know really bad of me!) and I’ve read a lot of books, but I felt compelled to review this book, as it just got me.

Tough and raw. Thank you Danielle for writing a gripping book. It's not often you come across an author who can develop such depth in characters you can feel the angst and are on a roller coaster ride of emotions. The topic covered is tough- it's real and raw. Can't wait to read the rest of Rory's journey.

OBSESSED. i swear if you love drama and romance you’re gonna love this book. the fact that the narrator is also dealing with stuff like anxiety and a crazy past makes it even better. it’s a book that has enough information for you to keep up with, without getting too confused.

Amazing!!!. This is a fantastic book one of the best I've read lately. It has very well thought out plots and all of the characters have different dimensions to their personalities making for an interesting read. I highly recommend this book.

Horrible. This was by far the worst book I have ever read. There is so main plot and is never swapping scenes, it is always based in the school. Nah I'm just joking, I haven't ever read it. I read the first chapter and I am hooked. Sorry about the bar review it was just a joke 😂

Emotional read. This book didn't interest me when I first saw it because its about high school age drama. But it wasn't bad, very emotional and descriptive. The violence was graphic, and overall very sad. Not happy that after reading 900+ pages, I find that it is a cliffhanger though, won't be buying the next books.
