READ THIS PLEASE!. I'd like to start off saying: Oh my gosh. Remarkable. Every chapter leaves you with something... Something so unexpected. Just when you believe you had everything figured out... It changes. The book becomes reality and we become Audra. Everything unfolds to us as it does to her. MULTIPLE TIMES MY HEART COULD NOT TAKE IT, IT WAS TOOOOOO MUCH but I kept going. I had to know more. I had to know the end. I had to know what's next, what's to come, what's waiting for my eyes to capture. This book will not waste your time, unless, if you're like me and have absolutely no idea the places that were mentioned throughout the book HAHAH. It was simple beautiful and spectacular. Thrill. Plot Twists. Fear. Family. Friendship. Optimism. Hope. Faith. Anger. Sadness. Hatred. Deceit. Betrayal. But overall, Love... It's magnificent.

Edge-of-seat Page-turner. This new book by one of my favorite authors did not disappoint. Like any great fiction book it kept me up late at night and waking up earlier in the morning just to find out the next steps of Audra. The ending has left me wanting more and eagerly anticipating the sequel, Firstborn.

Thrilling. Masterfully written. Beautiful. Twisty. Gasp! Another plot twist. This changes everything. Created from legend, woven through history with beautiful detail. So vividly told that you can see every moment in your mind's eye. This is another must read from Tosca Lee. I cannot wait to have the 2nd book in my hands.

Buy the book. As a long-time fan of Tosca's, naturally there was a certain amount of enthusiasm for her new book. However, with a switch in genre from her typical writing, admittedly there was a small amount of anxiety that this wouldn't be the best move for her. I was completely misguided in that anxiety. Three pages in, I was hooked. Four hours later I reached the halfway point and was immediately hit with a pang of disappointment that I would have to wait months for the sequel. This is her best work, hands down. The plot, the setting, the dialogue: all woven together to create a world richly compelling and somehow relatable. There is nothing within these pages to take you away from a believable story. Do yourself the immense favor of purchasing this book, and then joining the rest of us as we anxiously await the next.

Not my cup of tea. Throughout reading the novel, I couldn't get over the foundation this novel was built on. These people are being hunted for what their one ancestor did hundreds of years ago. I found that to be irking because I really didn't think that validated what the hunters were doing. The characters were nothing special to me and throughout the book you never really know who to trust. The main character was definitely strong and intelligent but I found myself annoyed with her actions of erasing her memory. Because now, she was playing the role of the naive newbie and having to relearn everything. The middle part of this book is really where this novel lost points for me. I found it boring and I had a hard time staying focused. Sure, there was stuff happening but I didn't find myself very invested in it. To me, it was just filed with a lot of information dumps that were given in the act of conversations. We were just told a constant flow of information and I found it fairly boring. We didn't see much of the relationship building so it was hard for me to want these two characters to be super cute together. I didn't see much chemistry between the two because of the nature of the novel and I just took their word for their feelings because their actions didn't realy give me a clue to anything. The ending was definitely interesting but I don't think it was good enough to really pick me back up from where the middle had left me. **I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honesty review from Grace's (LovingDemBooks) Booktube tours**

Excellent thriller. “My name is Emily Porter. I’m twenty-one years old and I am renting a cabin on a tiny island in the north woods of Maine for reasons I no longer remember” And so begins this fascinating book. What follows is Emily's journey to discover why she had her memory erased. In the process, she needs to discover who she really is, who her friends really are, who is for her and who is against her. She deals with living up to expectations of some and proving she is not as bad as others think. There are enough plot twists and surprises to keep the action moving along. This a conspiracy theory story with mystery, supernatural elements and a touch of romance thrown in. Probably the best book I've read this year and it has become my new favorite Tosca Lee book. It has been a long time since I've felt I have wanted to reread a book, but I know I will be reading this again when the sequel comes out.

Unpredictable!. This book will keep you up at night simply because you can't stop reading it. Just when you think you've figured it out, another twist. You can't trust anyone, and you'll never see the end coming!!

Best book since The Infernal Devices!. When I first saw this on the shelf at the store I was skeptical to buy it. The first thing that drew me to the book was the cover. It was mesmerizing! I haven't read a book this good in a long time. I HIGHLY recommend this book to everyone. You won't be disappointed when you open this amazing book and step inside the world that Tosca Lee created!

Amazing Thriller. I generally practice the savoring of a story before moving on and asking for more, but in the case of The Progeny, I'm in the need of the sequel as soon as possible. As someone who enjoys thrillers, conspiracy theory novels, symbolism, and character twists, this novel was spot on. The story moves quickly, and I experienced a few moments where my mind was running in place - thinking ahead but fully cemented in the moment that was happening in the story. I have been a long-time reader of Tosca's work, and I was not disappointed in this jump of genre. Does it lack? Yes. In an immediate sequel, because February is much too far away to follow Audra in her quest to live.
