The Davenports, Season One, Episode One Book Reviews
The Davenports, Season One, Episode One by Shannyn Leah & Kelly Moore Book Summary
Warning: If you are looking for a sweet, sensitive book with a happily ever after, this isn't it. It is a totally inappropriate book about a completely dysfunctional family. The F word flies free along with many other curse words. Feel free to get drunk (because the Davenports sure are!) while you're reading it, and prepare to wet yourself laughing. If sex scenes are not your thing, this book might not be your thing. But, if you have a crazy sense of humor and like raunchy comedies - you're in the right place. Join in on the craziness of The Crazy Rich Davenport Family.
Lucy's husband Mark, died a year ago. Her life and her families has been steadily going downhill and things have gotten a little out of control, to say the least. When her daughter plans a birthday party for her half-sister. Lucy decides it's time they all get their act together, but not everyone is on the same page.
There will be dildos and strawberries flying in the air, along with firecrackers, curse words, and little blue pills being slipped into drinks - hard-ons for everyone! Lucy's hope for normal in her dysfunctional family will never happen and things only get worse when Mark's snooty parents drop a bombshell that will only spark more insanity from The Crazy Rich Davenport family.

This Is Satire At Itâs Zaniest. This family reminded me of the Beverly Hillbillies/Clampett family, crossed with Mamaâs Family. The cast of zany characters is numerous and the author helpfully provided an intro to the main ones to give you a little insider info on them. If you are expecting your average dysfunctional family this is NOT IT. Youâve got your Viagra selling nympho grandmother Yaya, the alcoholic mother with two lovers Lucy. Ford the eldest male child of Lucy, his multiple personality girlfriend Daisy/Slutty Pepper/Tommy who also happens to be the nanny to his younger siblings, the teenage daughter Gemma the do-gooder of the bunch. Bets the keeper of the swear jar and her hero clad brother Bryant will keep you entertained along with other members of the family. Now this family puts the âfunctionalâ in dysfunctional. Their main moral compass Mark died the year before and the family is still very much trying to get their bearings. There have been a lot of roll reversals with Ford trying to fill his fatherâs shoes and Lucy in denial that Mark is gone and trying to bury herself with alcohol and sex with two different men. The kids are running wild and Yaya is trying to be helpful in her own way. Behind all of the zany behaviors you see a family struggling to process a big part of their lives being gone. They are all finding different coping mechanisms to keep it together then you throw in their dadâs side of the family that never fully embraced them and you have a family trying to keep their house and their version of sanity intact. One major thing that was very evident despite all of the bickering and shenanigans they had each otherâs back. They are all super protective of each other and will do any and everything to make sure no outsider hurts any of them. Crazy Perspnified. I thoughly enjoyed this book and the writing style. I liked the introduction of the characters with their description, this made it easier to follow the story since there are so many characters. I HATE the story ends with a cliffhanger!!!!! That aside, Kelly Moore did a fantastic job of keeping the story lines straight while delving into the characters personalities and the story development. People are crazy. These people are definitely crazy! The story was written wonderfully even with the changing of characters. It is definitely not for the faint of heart but it is hilarious to read the happenings of this crazy family.
The Crazy Rich Davenports ( Dare To Enter:Season One Pilot). The Crazy, Rich Davenports ( Dare to Enter:Season One Pilot) by Shannyn Leah & Kelly Moore is the hilarious tale of the crazed Davenport family. A family that is utterly..completely...and TOTALLY ....INSANE!!! Funniest book I have read ever. Never have I heard of such a nutty bunch of characters. Such an imaginative story....with much love lavished in this familyâs antics...So when you settle down to read this one ...forgo the coffee & cake...omit the tea & scones...break out the harder libations & have devilment in your heart ...for this tale ...is ...one hell of a delicious ride!!! VERY MUCH ENJOYED!!! An honest ARC review. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A hilarious read. This is a fast and entertaining read. Saying that the Davenports are a dysfunctional family is putting it mildly. This family is flat out crazy, but thatâs what makes this such a fun book. I canât wait to see what the next book has for us. Hilarious and Crazy!. Wow! How do I even describe this book!?!? The authors warned us before we ever received the book that it was different than their normal writing. That was an understatement! But it is a good different that I am so glad I read the book. The Davenport family is so dysfunctional it is funny! There is one side of the Davenport family that is rich, stuffy, rude and controlling. That was what Lucy married into, but her husband died unexpectedly a year ago. That was the downward slide for the other side of the Davenports. The crazy, happy grandma YaYa is a hoot that doesnât surprise you with the crazy things she comes up with once you get to know her. The nanny that has at least three different personalities that we meet is something else. I think every child had some form of âdifferentâ to them. If you are like me, you will not be able to stand the old money, rich side of the family. The others definitely grow on you. This isnât a book that ends, it is a series that continues. I for one canât wait for the next book. If you are ready for a change and want to laugh out loud, the. I strongly encourage you to read this book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Readerâs Copy of this book.
Lol funny!. What a crazy and refreshing read! Fun, funny, made me laugh and laugh and laugh. I cannot wait to read more.about Yaya in the next one! Love her spunky attitude! very entertaining! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The Crazy Rich Davenports. This is a fun read as the warning in the front of the book says the family is dysfunctional and there is a lot of inappropriate language and behaviour. There are lots of characters that you will either love or hate. Daisy, the Nanny with multiple personalities, Yaya with her bag of tricks and uptight Gemma are just of few. Look forward to more of this series.
Hilarious Read. Welcome to the world of the Crazy Rich Davenports and as the title says itâs a CRAZY place to be. This is a book about the Davenport family itâs fun itâs hot and it covers every scenario from a multi personality nanny to a blue pill drug dealing grandma with a lot of other big personalities in between. Lucy and her six children are trying to get back to living a normal life after losing their patriarch Mark Davenport but their idea of normal is far from normality. This family get themselves into some hysterical situations and even though they come across as zany outrageous characters there are hidden depths to each of their personalities...... This book is not a sweet read but it is a great read and it leaves us with just enough unanswered questions to keep us guessing as to where these authors will take us in book 2 which I canât wait to read.
Crazy. I don't know what I just read. Multiple personalities, viagra, a crazy nanna and so much more. I still can't describe if I enjoyed it or not I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So funny. 4.5 Star review of Dare To Enter (The Crazy Rich Davenports #1) by Shannyn Leah and Kelly Moore This was a laugh out loud hilarious read that had me receiving many funny looks as I read this on the train today. It was non stop fun and all I can say is please write more stories with these amazing characters. I laughed so much that I nearly wet myself; I know too much information but honestly, it is the truth. Lucy wants to add some normalcy to her family but she has an uphill battle on her hands. Throw in her deceased husband Markâs family and chaos reigns. The authors state that this is a story about a dysfunctional family and yet it was so much more.; it was a cracker of a story. So much drama and so many generations of family are throughout this story that at times I had no idea what was going to happen or in fact was happening since I was laughing so much. There is no doubt in my mind that the Davenports are a crazy bunch but they are also loveable and reading Dare To Enter was like riding a roller coaster which was out of control, but in a good way.
