Ransom x. A very enjoyable story, but a horrible read ! Doesn't anyone proof-read the manuscript? There were an ever increasing number of errors on all fronts..from punctuation through grammar. I appreciate the fact that the book was free, but wholly disappointed by the lack of regard to proper editing.

Legacy. Very well written. Subject matter a bit over the top, but once past that, a good detective series.

Sometimes it seemed kinda long and I kept expecting the villains to "screw-up" and get busted (or preferably killed!) but was disappointed as it was ending....I wanted it to go on... Great read!!. I read this book all night last night. I thought it was a great book... I had just finished reading the Haven and it had around 4,000 pages also... It took me a while to read but the Ransom captured me.. Couldn't put it down.. Look forward to another book by this author!!

Editing help needed. Interesting plot, engaging characters, but very poor editing. The writer of this book is on the right track with this exciting suspense, but the editor ( if there was one!) should be fired. It made for un-necessary confusions at times and annoyance at others. With the proper editing I would recommend this book. Of course for the price, free, I guess you can't go wrong!

A terrific read. A great story that was sordid evil that kept on coming to the very end. Thankfully, good overcame the evil Blade. A good proof read would be in order to correct the smattering of typos.

Loved it. I loved this book. I often find it difficult to engage right away and it usually takes a few chapters before I am zoned in but I was captivated from the first page here. What I didn't like was the "biker" aspect of the Vinyls especially because I felt that it did not correspond to the character of Blue whatsoever; Blue felt like a sociopathic-wolf-in-sheeps clothing to me, the guy you catch a glimpse of at a local convenience store and his physical presence is divided between "bumbling goof" and "weirdo creep." I felt Blue was more Kaiser Sozee than butch, tattooed biker. Sure, I could be stereotyping but based on the progression of his character, his intelligence, his extreme affinity for emotional terrorism had me envisioning him completely differently and it almost felt like the author had very carefully, meticulously crafted his character and then remembered "Oh yeah, I agreed to the biker thing" and then somehow had to work that criteria into the story line which just didn't "fit" with me. I loved the character of Legacy but I was annoyed with the unsettling backstory of his wife and his Gilmore Girls-esque daughter was cute but unrealistic. I likened Legacy's character to that of Dr. House (portrayed by Hugh Laurie) and it felt natural. I loved the progression of his and Wagner's interaction and I anxiously await another installment to see if anything more culminates between the two. I agree the editing was horrendous and I'm a writer and newspaper reporter so it was bordering on painful for me. This was definitely a well crafted tale that kept me engaged and intrigued. I found myself attracted to the character of Legacy, frightened by Blue and bonding with Wagner. I hope more Legacy installments will be available soon.

Great book. I loved reading this book. It was quite entertaining and captured my attention until the last minute.

Excellent Read!. I.B. Holder's first foray into fiction is nothing short of phenomenal. The storyline is exciting and fast paced. Agent Legacy and his supporting cast keep you on the edge of your seat. I picked this novel up to pass the time during a layover and spent every free moment after that following Agent Legacy unravel the the most demented of mysteries and still manage to come home at the end of the day keep it separate from his family life. I can't wait for the next installment. Well done sir!

Suspense. This book definitely kept me interested. Not always predictable, which is good. Characters were well defined and easy to keep track of. Thumbs up to the author!

Ransom X. Holder is a great storyteller .... Keeps the action going and develops his main characters to the point where I want to know more - I'm already thinking about who should play Legacy in the movie version.

Ransom X. The author does a very good job of telling a story well. The crime scene stomach turners were more graphic than I want to read about, and so I skipped those areas. But the mystery and intrigue are all there even so. I would give the author a 5 star, however the editing was not done well. The author uses the word "massage" in several places. It printed out as "message" every time. And over and over, conjunctions, prepositions and adjectives are missing.

Excellent Book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Great characters, unique plot, nail biting suspense. Highly recommended. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.

Great read. I was blown away! Much better than many paid books. A dark topic but the writer managed to avoid explicit sex scenes which is something I at least, am thankful for. Love the characters and I hope to buy the next one.

Great story line but.... The multiple grammatical errors, words left completely out of sentences and just horrible language skills detract from what could be a really good book. You find yourself stopping many times just to figure out what the writer is saying. Words misspelled and incorrect verbiage used ie., then/than These all can be easily forgiven if they occurred once or twice however it is more like every other page. SLOPPY

Great new voice. Plenty of great characters. Real nice the way the plot unfolds. Some choppy bits but I found myself eager to get back every time I put it down. Best iPad read so far.

Ransom X. Really wanted to give 2 1/2 stars, but since there was no 1/2 option, I decided to go for the 3 stars. Story line was very interesting. But book was very drawn out, too much useless information that was not required. Also main character was very confusing. He jumped from thought to thought without any rhyme or reason. I've read many great books, and in a great book your supposed to get so involved in the story that you actually believe you are there and it plays like a great movie in your mind. In the beginning, to me, the main character seemed as if he is autistic in a manner of speaking, but towards the end turns out to be a "ladies man" who is completely irresistible to the ladies. ??? Go figure! Anyways it's an ok book to read if you have the time, plus it was free. Like I originally said, I found the storyline interesting, and that's pretty much why I was able to finish the book.

Great book, poor editing. The book was fantastic, but the editing was lacking and made it confusing at times. Overall it was a great thriller and exceeded my expectations for a free book. If you like James Patterson, you'll love this.

Intense!. This was a great read. I couldn't put it down. Agent Legacy is much like Sherlock Holmes in today's world. The characters are refreshing and memorable.

Ransom X. Great book - lots of transitions, engaging.

Not bad, but not great. This story reads like a Monk spin-off novel. The main character is a super sleuth who has been widowed and now solves crimes in his own bizarre way. The editing hints at why this book is offered at no cost, often times I felt as though I were proof reading a high school creative writing paper with a large number of grammar errors and words out of order. It is definitely worth the mobbed (free), but I would hesitate to recommend it over other books if money were involved.

Ransom x. Good story line. Very interesting. Needs more editing. Story skips parts in places. Characters are new and different. I enjoyed it, definitely a psychological thriller.

Hard to read. Many years ago I wanted to be a writer. I wrote dozens and dozens of stories, all of which eventually ended up in the trash. I would write incessantly then go back and read what I wrote only to discover I did not have the ability to write coherently. I was intelligent, well spoken and loved reading but I lacked the ability to get the ideas in my head onto paper. So I accepted this and gave up on being a writer. This author suffers from the same problem, great ideas, terrible delivery. Sometimes I would have to read the same sentence or paragraph over and over again, trying to grasp some sort if meaning from it without success. Thus the story could not flow smoothly, events seemed haphazard and disconnected. Perhaps a top notch editor could have rescued this story, but I don't think it would have been worth the effort.

Astonishing!. I have been reading for over 55 years and have not often read through the night. This book is one of those times. That says it all!

Good book, but needs editing. As an aspiring author myself, I can fully appreciate the grind and hard work that goes into any book and people should consider that before launching into thoughtless criticism. However, Ransom X has interesting characters and a good plot. What lets it down is the lack of a good editor. In several places it became overly florid and in others, it lacks narrative drive. In one section, I read a large chunk of duplicated text and I thought the book to be overlong. However, it is worth a read and the climax was not a disappointment. Legacy was interesting, as was Blade. With judicious wielding of an editing axe, this could be a real page-turner

Good book. Enjoyed. Was easy to read and get into. Main character has a refreshing edge. There are grammar issues, but are forgivable especially as it's free. You should at least give it a try.

Canny read. This is an excellent if easy read - Legacy is a walking stereotype but still highly enjoyable as a character. It gets four stars instead of five as certain parts of the descriptive passages do not lend themselves well to a high octane thriller such as this. Would recommend this if looking to cuddle up with a book after a tough days work or on a long plane journey simply to pass the time - you might even get hooked!

Excellent. Can't wait till the next book, hope it's free as well, or if it does cost keep the price low. Also, people moan about a few spelling mistakes, for a free book why complain? I've had other free books and they've had a few mistakes, but the sentence is still legible. Quit complaining and enjoy some good free books!

Ransom x. Very good storyline and excellent characters. Slightly disappointed with the errors in spelling and they way some words seemed to be out of place (not loads but enough for me to comment) I think it needed proof reading first. Otherwise, I would read another legacy story :)

Gripping story, a real page turner. Don't let the fact that this book is free deter from it's quality. With complex characters and and excellent yet disturbing story line, this book had me hooked from start to finish. Each of the characters if believable and the description of them quickly gets you to love or have them. The story telling had me imagining each scene, much like I would imagine Legacy would do when he putting himself the the scene of the crime. This is a must download, worth paying for, which I will definitely do for the next installment.

Ransom x. An exciting plot, exploding with in-depth characters which exposes their strengths and weaknesses. The main character, Legacy, shows the social ineptness and stunning thought process of CSI's Grissom. The book has exciting twists that leaves you impatient to turn the page and read on. Loved it and can't wait to read more of Legacy.

Great story, lots of twists but needs a professional edit.... The story was brilliant and compelling however it was quite difficult to read at points and I found I was re reading parts several times to work out what the author was getting at. Also, lots of typos... however I do look forward to the next book as the story itself was great, but hope it gets an edit first...

Fast moving but omg the spelling..... For £2.99 this is reasonable value. The story moves quite quickly but the characters are clichés and the plot has holes the size of the Mariana Trench. However, what really irritates is the appalling number of typos and spelling mistakes. Mr Holder, PLEASE engage the services of a proof reader before the impossibly perfect heroes of your story spring back to life.

John Donaghy. Fantastic thriller with many twists and turns. Keeps you flicking the pages wanting more.

Great story but lot of waffle. I really enjoyed the story and all the characters. Felt whole book was perhaps 500 pages too long due to all the waffle that lost me 90% of the time

Hard work at times but stick with it.......More please!. The story captured you and held your attention though at parts was so confusing that you had to re-read! Once you remember who everyone is, this book has occasions of brilliance where it feels like your watching a fast paced thriller rather than reading it. I did enjoy it and would like to read more and perhaps the relationship between Wagner and himself will deepen further!! Ps they story of his wife is never fully explained is this in the follow up?

Superb thriller, keeps you guessing. Wonderful book! It could have run the risk of being too graphic and descriptive but the author got the balance just right, not too long at all, great characters and it sets the scene well for hopefully many more in the legacy series. Ignore any poor ratings, these are from people who can't see a well written and crafted novel when they see one. A must buy!!!

Good characters. Well developed characters and overall plot. Denouement seemed to drag and could have ended more explosively without the unnecessary additional pages.

Intrigue, page turning anticipation. This read is about thought process, the action is secondary. It is so cleverly written, sometimes a bit too clever. Legacy has a brilliant mind, this mixed with thriller, man meets woman, police drama is a breath of fresh air. The story line is far fetched and fantastical however it works. There is never a good point to stop. It is busy and will hook you from the outset. Please employ a decent proof reader. The typos are almost a complete turn off. Looking forward to the next chapter in the life of Agent Legacy and his soon to be troublesome teenage daughter.

No Editor?. This was a great book, but a poor read. They seem to have missed the editing stage. Spellings, grammar and even incorrect words really let it down and make it quite frustrating to read. However, it is free, so I'll keep quiet...

The amount of spelling mistakes was what i didnt like about this book, the words were spelt right just the wrong words like 'the' instead of 'they' ect. Good storyline but lacks continuity. Gripping storyline with strength of characters especially the socially inept Lagacey and famfatal Wagner. Regrettably the author was unable to deliver the storyline without continuity jumps. At times I felt frustrated by his inabilty to stick to the plot. Too many spelling mistakes and inaccurateout of context words marred the pleasure of reading at times.

Awful. Honestly, for a free read i was able to endure the grammar, spelling, and structural mistakes but the book is pretty awful. The story jumps from point of view making it difficult to follow, the characters were annoying and unbelievable, and the plot was ridiculous. I suggest the author, who seems to be a very young inexperienced writer read many many crime thrillers to see a better way of developing stories.

Ransom X. I absolutely LOVED this book. It is not a genre I usually read and it took me a bit to get into it... but was very, very rewarded by the effort. I couldn't put it down. QUITE EXCEPTIONAL.

Fantastic story although a little horrific!. What a fantastic read - this book I would have gladly paid for. Legacy such a unique and interesting character and this story line was brilliant. As mention is the title tho quite horrific especially for a female reader but can not wait for the next installment. Really great job for the author. I have read many of the E Books and have given some quite harsh but constructive feedback on many - but this book rates in my top 3!!

Ransom X. I haven't spent an entire day reading one book for as long as I can remeber, until today. I couldn't put this book down. Sadistic criminal minds, and an FBI agent with a his own abnormal brain - discovering traits about the criminal while making surprising discoveries about himself in the process. The author has created wonderfully complex, some likable, some abhorent, characters in this story - I'm glad to see it's just the beginning. First book was free and found totally by chance, but about half way through I'd already decided I'd happily pay for another story from this author. Highly recommended!

Terrific Mystery!. I loved this mystery. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Sometimes a bit gory and sometimes a bit hard to follow but it always had me wanting to read more. It could use a better editor though as there are several spelling, grammar and misplaced word mistakes.

Complex. Not an easy read because a Sh** load of research went into producing a book of complex thoughts, feelings and story. Don't read this unless you like a book that challenges you. You just might need to pay attention to what's happening to understand the plot!

Good read. Enjoyed the mystery but alot of filler stories and side stories made it unnecessarily long. Liked main characters sarcasm and personality. However got confused at times with abundance of characters and then trying to remember their nick names. Also - bit too graphic in sexual assault. It seemed to take away from story and emotions. Please proof-read your work!. This is a good story overall, however I counted some 62 spelling/typo, punctuation and grammar errors. And I wasn't looking very hard. This is extremely distracting. I realize that in this day and age when instant text messaging with cryptic short forms and acronyms are the norm, one can easily slip into the false belief that good grammar and good spelling are no longer necessary. Nothing could be further from the truth. You do a terrible dis-service to all your hard work with each error allowed. Each one screams out that you don't actually value your work, or the audience reading it. And I'm sure that was never your intention.
