Amazing story. This is a difficult story to read but at the same time it’s one that you can’t put down because you need to know what happens to all of the characters. It’s a heavy, beautiful, eye-opening, somber story that reminds the reader of just how far human imperfection goes. It was very well written and although the subject matter is sad, I loved the book.

Very good book. Excellent. I just devoured the book and couldn't let it down. The last few chapters are good in terms of the great developments and the story. Karine's character will keep haunting me forever. If you are interested in the fate of Armenian women during those turbulent years I would suggest to watch the documentary called "my grandma's tattoos".

The Sandcastle Girls. Amazing story of the genocide of millions of Armenians in Turkey in 1916. Very emotional. At times difficult to fathom the atrocities committed on the Armenians by the Turks.

WOW. I didn't think this author could produce anything better than "Skeletons", but I was so, so wrong. Brutal, horrifying, and yet ultimately uplifting in it's proof of the human spirit. And beautifully written. Without a doubt my next book club choice!
