Invisible by James Patterson & David Ellis Book Summary

Read the #1 New York Times bestselling thriller Invisible, then continue the series with Unsolved.
Everyone thinks Emmy Dockery is crazy. Obsessed with finding the link between hundreds of unsolved cases, Emmy has taken leave from her job as an FBI researcher. Now all she has are the newspaper clippings that wallpaper her bedroom, and her recurring nightmares of an all-consuming fire.

Not even Emmy's ex-boyfriend, field agent Harrison "Books" Bookman, will believe her that hundreds of kidnappings, rapes, and murders are all connected. That is, until Emmy finds a piece of evidence he can't afford to ignore. More murders are reported by the day--and they're all inexplicable. No motives, no murder weapons, no suspects. Could one person really be responsible for these unthinkable crimes?

INVISIBLE is James Patterson's scariest, most chilling thriller yet.

What a cliffhanger!. This book has amazing twists and surprises at every turn, and allows great insight into investigative work.

Awesome book!!!!!!. Thanks James Patterson and David Ellis for a great book that I couldn't put down. I did not figure it out until the end. I hope maybe you will consider writing another book featuring the FBI agents that were in this book. Just a thought. Thanks again for a great book. I can't wait to read the next James Patterson book.

Excellent book!. This is another great book from James Patterson. I enjoyed it from start to finish. It kept me enthralled all the way to the surprising end!!

LOVE. This book is so awesome. There is so much detail and suspense it leaves u on the edge of your seat. The ending makes you question what happens next.

Invisible. Ugh. I normally love Patterson's books, but this was dull and slow moving.

Invisible. I want my money back!

Invisible. One of the best books I've read in a long time! Kept me up reading late into the night, couldn't put it down! A must read!!!

Lame. Waste of money and my time.

BIGGEST PLOT TWISTS EVER. You think you know what is going to happen next but then you get a whiplash of unexpected events! Definitely a great book that I would recommend to anyone who loves mystery/thriller!!

Fantastic. You won't be disappointed in this book, keeps you in suspense until the last page.

PAGE TURNER!. I loved this book! Very engaging, unique, and fresh. The characters were interesting and I hope to see recurring stories with the main characters. Thanks for a fantastic read!

Invisible. Boring. Not his best. Way too bloody. Not enough character development. Skipped the repetitive mind games. Save your money.

Love it. The twist at the end was something I did not expect! Thrilling and a great read

Invisible. James Patterson truly writes good books... I absolutely loved this book!!! Kept me on the edge of my seat especially at the end :)

Excellent book. Intriguing books that keeps you on edge.

Overall good read. Always been a Patterson fan, and this falls right in line with his better work. Superb attention to detail around the criminal aspects of the storyline, which give great depth and color to both the characters and the plot. The interjections of the chapters of ‘Graham Sessions’ became somewhat of a chore to read through but eventually serve their purpose expertly in diverting attention and setting up the inevitable plot twist at the end. In fact, it’s a rather ingenious method of misdirection for the reader. My only gripes with the book manifested late into the storyline; there is a rather obvious diversion that seems somewhat forced in the character of Jim. A completely understood effort, but his character overall is cliche and his literary function is forced. Secondly, I was looking for additional resolution on the romantic storyline, but any Patterson reader would know that to be unlikely. In the end, one of the better books I’ve read as of late and would certainly recommend to any crime thriller fiction fan.

Invisible. I am very dissatisfied. For the first time, since I began reading books downloaded to my iPad, I was unable to finish this book. Beginning around page 550, I would turn the page and there would be only blank pages. This continued to occur about every 4 to 5 pages. Then, just when the story was building for the ending, that was it. All of the rest of the pages were blank. Therefore, I did not get to read the ending to the story. Very unhappy.

Invisible. One of his best

One of Patterson's Best. Very good storyline.....very graphic at times (overly so), but hold's the reader's interest throughout. Hope the characters come back in a follow-up novel.

Invisible. I had a very hard time putting this book down. I had to know what was coming next from beginning to end.

Absolutely Loved It!. Loved this book! Was pretty bloody at times, but the ending was perfect. I didn't see that coming at all!

A little graphic.... But another great book! The twists I never saw coming! I could do without the explicit details and the gory crime, but as far as the mystery and suspense goes, it was a home run!

Major Disappointment. I was so disappointed in this book. It did not feel like a James Patterson book at all.

Mrs. D.. Found this very hard to read. The end was very hard to understand.

His best book. Of all the books I have read by this author, this one is the best! I could not put it down.

Fabulous!. I never leave reviews. This is a must read. It’s been years since I’ve read a book that I was truly excited to read. I’m almost afraid to read the next book in the series. I’m afraid it won’t measure up to this one. However, I am going to read it and find out firsthand.

Exciting Story. Great writing and eerie plot. Surely, Patterson is one of the best story tellers. A very enjoyable read.

Invisible. Great book, another edge of your seat thriller. Keep 'em coming James Patterson!

Invincible. Okay!

Best Patterson book ever!. Amazing book, fascinating characters, unbelievable plot, great read!!! Will make a jaw dropping movie

The ending killed it. It was a great book with a good plot. The execution of the story was pretty good, it could have been better. However, the only thing that disappointed me was the ending. It seemed like it was rushed and very abrupt. It didn't do the story any justice.

Invisible. Wow! Read his one. Beautiful research, great writing, and a plot that tingles your toes. Some of the recent James Patterson books fell short of his writing wizardry, not INVISIBLE.Invisible leaves you gasping at the end of each chapter. I did not like the ending however, thought it was undone a little undone, in my opinion, but it was the ending and all the words before it kept clinging to your reading eyes.Wow!

Great Plot Twist!!!. Once again James Patterson does an amazing job of keeping me on my toes until the VERY end!! Can’t wait to read into the next part of the series!

Invisible. I am a huge fan of James Patterson, I did not enjoy this book! Emmy’s character drove me crazy, I wanted to slap her, what a brat. I get she loved her sister but she said and did things in the book that really were very dumb or not believable. It just read like the book was put together in a hurry.

Couldn't put it down. Very entertaining read! Midway through, the pace seems to pick up and you won't be able to put it down!

Invisible. I would rate this as so-so. I have read pretty much all the Patterson books and think this one was pretty weak, especially the ending. Not great character development and it was drawn out in some spots. I'm getting tired of the formulaic books with other writers.

Must Read !!. Another winner from James Patterson. Fast moving, suspenseful, plot twists. Loves this book, found myself reading on breaks at work to finish. Can't wait for the next one

Invisible. From a long time fan of his work this book was a disappointment. Sadly not one of his better works. Seems lately he is putting out books to simply put them out.

Invisible. One of the best books james patterson has written. A real page turner.have to put on your thinking cap for this one!!!

Best book ever.. One of my all time favorites. I have read it twice so far. I am sure I will pick this up again and read it.

Invisible. Outstanding story! The book has an amazing plot I loved every word of it. I recommend this book you won’t be disapointed.

Liked it a lot!. I'm a big fan of all the books by Mr. Patterson and his cowriters. Try to buy them as soon as they come out. Keep it up - I hate when I run out of books.

Invisible. Great suspense but obnoxious heroine. Got to the point of dislike for her. Too much of her thoughts and first person.

Invisible. 4/5 stars. A little far-fetched with the plot. But, with interesting twists and turns. Hal

Invisible. Outstanding story, what an amazing plot with characters to beat. I've read the book, only after listening to it on audio books, which is an amazing story telling as I've ever heard in a very long time. That encouraged me to read it afterwards and I'm glad I did, as you'll agree as well. Loved It!!

TWISTER. Good plot. GREAT twist. Read this book in a mere few hours. Couldn't / didn't want to put this book down

Serious intrigue. Serious twists and turns that surprised this reader. And some horrifyingly real sounding actions.

Incredible. I have read hundreds of books. Maybe thousands but I’ve never read a book so fast. Finished this in about 6 hours. I just couldn’t put it down. Just incredible. I still have chills.

Invisible. I always enjoy reading James Patterson’s novels. As with all of his books, it is well paced. My only gripe is how completely unlikable the protagonist is in this one.

Awesome.. I couldn’t put this book down. Gruesome in places but not focused on those details. The storyline was full of twists and turns. Excellent book.

No Longer a Fan. This book reads like the sloppy draft of a novice taking a creative writing class. Wow. $15 down the drain. The plot is easily predictable from the get go. I finished the book only because I paid the money.

Invisible. Hard to put down.
