Roommates with Complicated Benefits by J. S. Cooper Book Summary

What do tequila, furry handcuffs, shame, and a 6' 2" hot man with a black eye all have in common?

They were all in my bed last night.

Well, shame was there this morning.

My a*****e roommate up and moved out and rented her "room" to some guy her brother's coworker's cousin "knows really well." The aforementioned roommate thinks we'll get on like a house on fire. I tell her I don't think anything related to fire is a good thing. Especially as this guy and I will now quite literally be sharing the same room, with a divider for "privacy."

Sounds bad, right? Well, it gets worse.

Ethan Huntington is the most annoying, frustrating know-it-all, pompous jerk I've ever met. I did try to be open and ask him about himself when he moved in. But his responses consisted of, "Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies." Yeah, okay. Cue major eye rolls as I walked away from him. It only made me angrier when I heard him laughing as I slammed the door as if he'd gotten the last laugh.

He thinks he's God's gift to women just because he's hot. I can't lie: I've seen him without his shirt, and let's just say he got more than my heart racing. But that doesn't mean I'll succumb to him. No way.

Well, that was the plan. Until that night. When we decided to play a few rounds of cards and we drank way too much. Sure, we had one night. But that's all it's going to be. I'm not going to let my one-night mistake stop me from going out and meeting Mr. Right—even if Ethan is still living with me and I can't get him out of my mind.

And then the first letter arrived and changed everything. Maybe that one-night mistake was just the beginning of something really special.

Good read. I enjoyed reading this book. These two really clicked with each other. She is British, here on a visa for a job. He is a private investigator currently under cover for a job. They end up sharing a small studio apartment. It doesn't take long for them to fall for each other. Good read.

Very good story. It’s the usual opposite sex roommate situation that turns into more. However, this was such a fun read that kept you turning the pages for more. It’s sweet, funny, sexy, and they both can be a bit salty. There’s some cameo moments from book 1 but this can be read as a stand-alone.

Loved it. This was a great romance with a comical part. The storyline was great. The banter was funny. The friendship was fun to read. I love the drama and thought it was overall a great read.

Witty. This was a fun loving read. Molly and Ethan have you laughing with their witty banter. I truly enjoyed this story. I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

Will they become more than just roommates?. Molly came to New York from London to work as a photographer for a new fashion designer and lives in a studio apartment separated into 2 bedrooms by a retractable sheet. Ethan’s family runs a billion dollar business that he wants no part of because he has made his own millions in the tech industry. There is a problem at the family business and his brother wants him to find out about missing money and dares him to work undercover at the company and live only on his salary. He ends up subletting from Molly’s roommate and after an embarrassing first meeting he stays and she tries to set up some rules. Molly finds him handsome and sexy and Ethan is intrigued by her and she challenges him. They grow closer but Molly knows that she shouldn’t get distracted or intimate with Ethan and he knows they shouldn’t get involved because she doesn’t know who he really is. Will Ethan solve the mystery at the family business? Will Ethan and Molly act on their growing attraction? I thoroughly enjoyed this story where Ethan and Molly become roommates and she doesn’t know his real identity. They become closer while living together and their interactions are often humorous as they get to know each other better. There are also questions about Ethan’s family’s business and Molly’s job issues. This was a great book to read, it was fun seeing Ethan’s brother and his girlfriend again from the other book in the Complicated Series, and the epilogue was a great ending for their story. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Are They Just Roommates?. Another five star book from J.S. Cooper! I could not put this book down as Ms. Cooper has once again created great characters who grab your attention. I loved the bet between Ethan and his brother Harry. It seems ridiculous that these millionaires would bet just $100, but it does prove the point of it is Ethan doesn’t care about having money. I felt sorry for Molly that she was lead “across the pond” for a job with a famous fashion designer and it is not exactly what it was advertised to be. I like how Molly and Ethan become friends after bonding over pizza in the park and going over the apartment rules. Ethan grows and learns what it means to not have someone at your beck & call to do his grocery shopping and laundry. Ethan becomes attentive to Molly and how unhappy she is at work and encourages her to keep auditioning for off-Broadway shows. It’s sweet the way he starts to do things for her, like wash the dishes so she can shower. The witty and sarcastic banter between the couple is fun as well as the dinner when Ethan introduces Molly to Harry & Sarah. I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily giving an honest review

Molly and Ethan. Molly move from England to what she thinks is a two bedroom apartment inNY. It is actually a studio with a curtain partition. Her roommate sublets to Ethan who is a billionaire who is undercover and must live on his salary. They have a night together but will it become more and what happens when the truth comes out.

Learning Lessons. Ethan is a millionaire. He comes from a wealthy family and he has made his own millions as well. He has had an easy life. One thing he doesn’t want to do is work for the family business. His older brother challenges him to work a low level salaried position within the company and live on that only for 3 months. If he succeeds, then Ethan will never be asked to work for the family business again. When his friend asks him to sublet his girlfriend’s apartment, he takes him up on it.  Molly I’d from the UK and had moved to New York to make a new way for herself.  She is struggling to make ends meet so she answers an add for a roommate.  Ethan and Molly make a great couple.  I like how Ethan settles into blue collar life and does just fine.  He and Molly end up roommates and become fast friends. Molly is chasing her dreams and working hard. I received a review copy of this book from the author.  I was not required to leave a positive review.  I am voluntarily leaving a review which is my opinion alone.

Benefits indeed. What a fun read, as it always gets complicated when friends have benefits. These two have a great friendship and good chemistry together, many lol moments make this an enjoyable book. An interesting mystery of embezzlement and zinging banter will have Ethan and Molly fighting their attraction. A wonderful romance book with intrigue and humor. I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book that I received free.

Roomhates. Molly has the worst roommate... just when she thinks it couldn’t get worse, her roommate goes on vacation for a few months and sublets her part of the apartment to a stranger. At first molly can’t stand Ethan, but slowly he grows on her. Will they be able to last the three months living together?

Quick read with an actual story. Sarcasm. Cute. And even a little bit of mystery. This was a quick read. Was finished in a couple hours. Kept me entertained and didn’t have dull moments. Very consistent. Even though it was quick, I felt it wasn’t lacking in character development and didn’t feel rushed. Very thorough and well written. This storyline was new, didn’t feel like a repeat of other stories. Unique in its own way. My favorite part was the sarcasm between them. The 20 questions game was on point. Overall well written quick read book. I was provided an advanced reader copy for an honest review. I am doing this willingly.

Roommates in a studio apartment. It’s a slow start but it pulls you in and your hooked! I highly recommend getting comfy this series is great! I especially loved the sarcasm, sassiness, humor and all around playfulness of these two characters! You can’t take the sexy undercover billionaire too seriously while he breaks down the walls of his new English roommate!

Great story. Another great story by JS Cooper. She has created great characters in Ethan and Molly with an amazing storyline. Ethan and Molly become friends after being thrown together as roommates. They have an amazing chemistry from the start and I love how they bonded over eating pizza and going over the apartment rules. Molly gets really jealous when she sees Ethan having lunch with a coworker that she thinks is more than that. She bans Ethan from the apartment until her friend talks her into hearing him out. So glad that they work through this to get to their Happily Ever After.

Roommates and love. I received this ebook ARC from the author on the condition that I write an honest review. Ethan is a wealthy son of Billionaires, and his brother sends him incognito to their new acquisition, to investigate a discrepancy of funds. He must live on only the amount of his paycheck, and must find an apartment within his financial limits. Molly is fresh to the USA, from England, and is working a crappy job, while attempting to find an acting role. She is also living on very limited funds. They meet accidentally at a night club, but there is no interaction between them, even though, Ethan finds her attractive. A situation occurs where they end up being roommates. Slowly there begins a mutual attraction, that builds to a strong relationship. When Molly catches Ethan with another woman, problems occur. The truth is revealed and they obtain their HEA. I’ve read several books J. S. Cooper, and have enjoyed them all. She writes great characters, with realistic stories, and that’s why I recommend her books.

Another great story. I really enjoyed this story. I love to read story that include past character. The Huntington-Parker family seems to be growing. It was a great story that had my laughing out loud. I can’t wait to see who finds love next in the family.

Sexy roommate. Who doesn’t love a hot sexy roommate!! Molly and Ethan chemistry is out of this world. Molly is from England and is starting a new job, new life. Ethan is working undercover for his family. Roommates with benefits =). Great love story.

Fun read. Molly and Ethan were a fun duo to get to know. From their first meeting, the chemistry was there and the way the end up living together was not what I saw happening. This is a true story of how love is the most important thing in life. Money and power can be good but love is the ultimate gift and holds the most joy and power.

Must read. This is book two to the Complicated Benefits series and it’s Ethan and Molly’s story. Ethan is a billionaire, who goes undercover to help his brother at the family business. His brother bets him that he can’t live within his means of his work paycheck and not depend on his billions. Molly moved from London to New York for a low paying job, struggling to make ends meet. Ethan becomes Molly’s roommate in a studio apartment in New York. They have crazy chemistry from the moment they meet, but they fight it. I love the banter between them. Had me telling them to get together already. Couldn’t put the book down. Had to find out when they finally get together. This is another one of her books I couldn’t put down.

Complicated in the best way!. Molly moved to the US to pursue her acting dreams. Her photographer day job doesn’t pay well so she has to make due sharing a tiny studio which she thought was a 2 bedroom with a crazy girl. Luckily for Molly said crazy roommate leaves on a 3 month trip. Molly thinks she’s living the life by herself when hot bod Ethan walks through her door and tells her the crazy girls sublet her half of the apartment to him for the next 3 months. They start off pretty shaky but start to grow on each other. Ethans hiding some big secrets. Will Molly find out, will they hook up, could they be meant to be? You gotta read to find out! It’s a great story and I am voluntarily leaving my ARC reader review. Love it and J.S. Cooper. Once you finish this book be sure to folllow with her other awesome reads!!

Roommates with complicated benefits.. This book had a good story line. I liked the main characters a lot. The writing seams alittle immature at times. The last chapter of this book made me roll my eyes it was so sappy. Maybe it was just me.

Loved it. Ethan and Mollys story was super cute. Molly is struggling to make ends meet and she’s new to the states, Ethan Ian extremely wealthy but on a bet with his brother he has to live way beyond his means for a few months while playing spy which leads to him and Molly being temporary roommates which is not ideal to either but there attraction to each other starts mudding the waters especially since she doesn’t even really know who Ethan is and she’s not that crazy about what she does know.

Complicated circumstances...interesting turn of events. What a witty take on two people who are both trying hard to fight love. Then how they find themselves in a complicated situation that just could ultimately lead them to the one person they each never saw coming. Ethan is a heart throb and would never have thought a girl like Molly would have sparked a desire for him, but she does and he can’t resist. Molly is stubborn and refuses to admit how turned on that Ethan makes her. She lets all her fury for other reasons drive her, but will the chemistry these two have just be too much to keep them apart? Will they end up having a one night hook up and then call it quits? Will Molly find her Prince Charming that she wants, someone who gets her and likes her for who she is. The banter between these two is something you don’t want to me. You will catch yourself having to read until you get to the very end. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

British rose finds love. Just like the first book I enjoyed this one also. Loved Molly and her personality, she was great a didn’t fall in inst-love like most books so felt more realistic. It had great humour in parts that made me smile. Worth the read!

Amazing. This is another amazing romcom from J S Cooper the story was engaging and had me laughing out loud I really loved how the characters connected I enjoyed how the relationship builds between the characters slowly to start amazing I received an ARC for my honest review.

Absolutely Amazing. This is book two in The Complicated Benefits Series and it is Ethan and Molly's story and I absolutely loved it. Ethan has money, charm and he is a ladies man so when his brother Henry challenged him to live on a certain amount of money and live with a roommate he decides to take him up on his challenge to show that he can do it Ethan just hopes that he doesn't regret that decision. Molly has moved from London where she had a good job and flat to New York after she was offered a job to photograph clothes for a up and coming fashion designer but she hopes that she hasn't made a mistake as her job is not what she thought it would be and her flatmate Victoria conned her out of her money as it was not a two bedroom flat. When Victoria goes away for a few months Molly thinks that she has got the place to herself not knowing that Ethan will be staying there as well so when things get of to a bad start both will have to compromise to be able to get through the next few months but how will it all turn out. Omg I absolutely love the banter between Ethan and Molly and they had me laughing so much with there back and forth conversations and I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive. The chemistry between Ethan and Molly was so strong but will they act on it and what will happen when Ethan's secrets are revealed. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and until the last one and it was a real page turner that you had to keep reading to see what would happen next and you are definitely not disappointed. I S Cooper is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed as she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of your seat. I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this Amazing Book.

Enjoyable read. Not quite five stars but more than four. The storyline was interesting and funny at times. Molly had been in the US for a couple of months and was sharing a one bedroom apartment . Her flat mate was going to be away for three months so she thought she would have the place to herself but unbeknown to her she sublet it to someone else that’s how she ended up sharing the place with Ethan who was undercover for his family who just bought the company and the books weren’t adding up. Well that’s the back ground to this book. To find out what happens between Molly and Ethan You are going to have to read the book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Enjoyable. Ethan is a billionaire who has gone undercover to help his brother find out what has happened to some missing money. They agree that he will live within the salary he earns and that is how circumstances align that Ethan and Molly end up sharing a studio apartment. Despite knowing that it is not a good idea, they gravitate towards each other as the chemistry intensifies. The banter is witty and it was fun to watch their relationship develop. As Ethan digs into the mystery surrounding the disappearing money, will he solve it or put not only himself but others in danger? This was an entertaining read that was witty, hot and steamy. The story is well written and I was invested in Ethan and Molly’s story. It was supposed to be a one night stand between roommates but it became so much more and the complications kept building.

Entertaining fun read. In Roommates with Complicated Benefits we meet Ethan and Molly who end up as roommates. Ethan is a billionaire who has gone undercover to help his brother find some missing money and that means giving up his extravagant lifestyle and start living within the means his new salary pays, enter a roommate to help with the costs. An instant attraction soon leads to more for Molly and Ethan but it’s was meant to be temporary, it was only meant to be one night so they could both scratch an itch and that’s where the benefits and complications start to come in. This is an entertaining, fun read that has adorable characters and plenty of witty banter. It’s a captivating read that will appeal to a wide range of audiences so I guess all that’s left for me to say is please one click this gem, you won’t be disappointed.

Such a great read. This is such a great story. A definite must read.

Loved it. Yet another amazing book from J. S. Cooper. This book brings Ethan (Harry’s brother) to life. After making a bet with Harry, Ethan moves into a small studio apartment where he meets Molly. Now he’s learning that there is more to life than money, and maybe love really does exist after all. I absolutely loved this story. Definitely take the time to give this one a read. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for my voluntary and honest opinion.

Meh. You don't become invested in the characters, which in turn makes it hard to read. Tried to persevere but just couldn't finish it. Just too boring.
