Great book. Riveting! Didn’t want to put it down.

BUMMED!. This one took me days to finish. This is the 1st one I didn’t like. It didn’t hold my attention. I’m thinking the next one will be better.

Fast paced psychological thrills. This is a great series. Multiple storylines blend together seamlessly into a complex highly readable whole. Each character brings their own individual story to enhance the finished product. Jessie is struggling with her grief over Garlands death and Ryan's life threatening injuries. Even though she has resigned from the LAPD she agrees to consult on a high profile case. Teamed with Trembly she must help find the killer of a high profile actress before someone else dies. Okay. While I was interested in ongoing details of the characters lives, I just could not embrace this particular storyline. It was just okay for me.

To be honest, I was very disappointed with this book.. SPOILER IN 3RD PARAGRAPH The first thing I want to say, is that I absolutely adore this series. I thoroughly enjoyed the Jessie Hunt novels prior to this one. I had such high hopes for this book to be great along with the rest, but it wasn’t. This is for a couple reasons. The the first thing that irked me was the grammar. I have to say I am well aware that most negative reviews left for any of Blake Pierce’s books are because of the poor quality editing. I can often look past the poor grammar and enjoy the story, but this time was difficult. Another issue was that the book barely addressed the plot of the series. There is hardly any development in Ryan, Hannah, or Jessie’s “problems”. (For lack of a better word) Especially with how we were left off in the previous book. Ryan fighting for his life and in this book his character is brushed to the side, while he’s a brief thought that crosses Jessie’s mind as she comes home from work? I found this to be extremely disappointing. I found it really hard to pay attention to the murder itself. My goal was to finish this book and dnf because there might be some redeeming quality, but there wasn’t. I honestly felt like this book was dragging, and the series wouldn’t be affected if this one were to be removed. This being said, everyone is different. While I didn’t enjoy this book, you might. If you truly want to read this book, then don’t let what I said discourage you, but keep in mind what I said.

Not the best. So far, this has been my least favorite book in the series. It seemed to drag on and was a little booming to be honest. At times o just wanted to be finished reading so I could move on to the next book. The last two chapters were the best parts of the entire book. I’m not sure if I will co time the series or find something else to read.

Wish it could be 5 stars. The book is brilliant and I can’t wait to read the next one, but the editing is terrible and takes away from the story.

Thrilling. Another thrilling suspense page turning book, as the plot thickens it becomes harder to obtain an inkling of who the killer is. The reader is left on the edge of their seat cliffhanger hopefully Jessie will understand on why she has clues at her fingertips. Looking forward to the next instalment.

Titles are clever. This book was quite different from the series because of the circumstances Jessie Hunt was dealing with. The book illustrates the realities of today’s world where men abuse their position of power in the film industry.

Spellbinding blend of Hollywood glamour, criminal behaviour and solid detective work.. Vivid descriptions make you feel as though you are right there with profiler Jessie Hunt and star-stuck Detective Alan Trembley as they investigate the murder of an actress. I felt like I was actually prowling around the studio soundstage and backlot with them. The motive and killer are difficult to figure out as multiple suspects, lies, rivalries, past criminal wrongdoing are woven throughout the novel. It kept me guessing until the end. This book also continues events from the previous one but it works fine as a standalone. I really felt Jessie’s turmoil as she visits her detective boyfriend in hospital where he is fighting for his life. Her sister is also struggling, fearing that she may have a mental disorder. Her thoughts were rather chilling as she attempts to understand her own mind. Jessie herself is mourning her friend and mentor. This was so well-written I had a hard time putting it down.
