Heir Apparent. Preston and Child have created a character in, Agent Pendergast, who rivals the quintessential detective in literature. Of course I am referring to Sherlock Holmes. I need say no more.

Superbly Written. So far, I've read all of the Pendergast novels up to Dance of Death, and so far this is the best in my opinion. As usual, Preston and Child have provided great character development mixed in with a superb plot that keeps you guessing 'till the end! Though I recommend first reading the other Pendergast novels first, this is a mandatory read for anyone in need of a terrific thrill ride. I couldn't put this great book down. Good job guys! :)

Wow!. So good. Long but keeps your attention. I recommended it to a friend before I even finished it, and I still would now that I'm done. Can't wait to read the next book. I read roughly a book a week and I really appreciate when I find a good one that keeps me interested and thankful I didn't waste my time (*cough* 50 shades of grey *cough cough*)

Excellent. This was the first L & C book that I read and have been hooked ever since. I have read every Pendergast novel so far and then some. They write in such a way that you cannot put the book down. Exciting story lines and characters that you just love. I highly recommend these books.

Brimstone. Wonderful books! The authors timing and suspense are truly enjoyable. The way the stories build and unfold and the relationship between the main characters reminds me very much of the Sherlock Holmes stories. Except these stories take place (for the most part) right here in the good ole US of A. Bravo Prescott and Childes.

Great Authors. So, I have often let my mind wander throughout the book, thinking, how do 2 people write a book that is so seamless… Then I have to read a page again… They create scenes that are descriptive and put you right in there as the story is unfolding. I am totally invested in the character of Agent Pendergast and know in my mind that I have made a commitment to read every book in the series. (started off by reading Cabinet of Curiosities, 3rd book) I was so engrossed that I bought Relic and Reliquary while reading it. If your a patient reader and like a story to build, invest your time in these authors… I even wrote a curious question to them around a month ago and actually got a reply which is amazing!

Mrs. They were read out of order but still a wonderful read. Both Pendergast and D'Agosta are beloved characters. After reading several books surrounding them one can only hope their adventures never end and continue to keep readers on their toes.

Brimstone. Excellent. Love the character Pendergast. I am reading the series for a second time and am enjoying the books even more the second time around.

Content is great-- the reader not so great.. The story itself is great, but the actor who reads the story should have been cast better. At times it is difficult to tell who is who and your mind misses details trying to distinguish--it is just hard to let yourself go and visualize because of this. Again the story is great but after a few chapters I feel like I would both enjoy and appreciate the twists and turns if I actually READ the book vs listening to a mediocre actor attempt to portray.

Another masterpiece!. These writers are amazing, catching your attention and refusing to let it go. Would always recommend this book and this series.

Diogenes. This is one of my favorite books period the Diogenes trilogy is my favorite trilogy ever I enjoyed the sequel of this slightly more(dance of death) I strongly recommend this book also read the Fever Dream trilogy it's amazing read this series all the books you won't regret your decision. Pendergast stories are the greatest detective stories ever and I hope they make movies out of these books like they did Relic

Brimstone. This was my second reading since the book was first released. It still stands as one of my favorite modern novels. Preston and Child are consistently the best of the detective genre.

Awesome!. Must read! Pendergast at his absolute best! Your on edge the whole way! Douglas & child took it to another level with this one!

Quite Good. I was somehow expecting something different from this title, but was thoroughly satisfied nonetheless. It is engaging throughout, and does a great service to Child & Preston's characters, beginning to bring a real human depth to both Pendergast and De'Agosta. Expect a great story arc as well.
