Sixkill Book Reviews
Sixkill by Robert B. Parker Book Summary
Another extraordinary Spenser novel from the beloved New York Times-bestselling author.
On location in Boston, bad-boy actor Jumbo Nelson is accused of the rape and murder of a young woman. From the start the case seems fishy, so the Boston PD calls on Spenser to investigate. The situation doesn't look good for Jumbo, whose appetites for food, booze, and sex are as outsized as his name. He was the studio's biggest star, but he's become their biggest liability.
In the course of the investigation, Spenser encounters Jumbo's bodyguard: a young, former football-playing Native American named Zebulon Sixkill. Sixkill acts tough, but Spenser sees something more within the young man. Despite the odd circumstances, the two forge an unlikely alliance, with Spenser serving as mentor for Sixkill.
As the case grows darker and secrets about both Jumbo and the dead girl come to light, it's Spenser--with Sixkill at his side--who must put things right.

Sixkill. I will miss Parker's characters like long lost best friends and saddened at the prospect of not having the books left unwritten. Rest in peace Robert.
Kudos to Creedos. First appearance of Zebulon Sixkill, the heir apparent to Spenser’s sense of humor. A story of terse sustained sleuthery and human humanity with jokes and gunfire.
Great Dialogue. The riding is as close to Robert Parker’s Spenser as ever. I love the relationship with Susan and the introduction of Zebulon Sixkill was a welcome addition look forward to reading about the two of them and Hawk in the future
Mr. Spenser Sir?. You. Are. Missed.
Six kill. Once again Mr. Parker has written an all too short winner. I was thrilled to see one last Spenser Novel from him. I shall miss his books a great deal. At sixty and an avid reader I'm still a sucker for a great read. Parker delivered again and I shall miss him as an old friend or comfortable slippers. I will miss Hawk and Susan and even Quirk. I shall now try to find an new favorite author for Parker was mine. You know he's great when you hate to see the book come to an end.
Sixkill Robert Parker. Love that Spencer, good story, short chapters, a great read. Do not miss out on a very good book. Mr. Parker will be missed.
Sixkill. Great dialogue and action. Several laugh out loud moments. I'm going to miss Robert Parker's stable of characters, from Spenser to Virgil. Thanks RB for all the great reads. "He died."
Sixkill. Excellent read! The late, superlative author, Robert B. Parker surprised me again with his skill at making time disappear, while the bonus being the development of a compelling new characte, Z. Sixkill. I began reading Parker in high school when my father, an avid sleuth aficionado, gave me The Godwulf Manuscript. In the following decades I have enjoyed his distilled crafty novels immensely. Like John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee, any of "Dutch" Leonard's protagonists, Parker was good every time.
Unique. Parker’s writing is as smooth as the Spenser character he created. And his hoop-de-doodle is magnificent.
Average. The book is a little average. I haven't read the other Spencer novels and I likely won't after this one. It was an ok book more suitable for a 8th grader.
Sixkill. Decient read, but somewhat far fetched. Story should have been more about the Indian, and less about the Fat guy.
Sixkill. Spenser at his best! Not a dull moment ever. Sharp story, great dialogue, every Spenser fan will be thrilled. Another helper joins the Spenser family, Sixkill seems better than "Hawk" if that is possible?
