The Goal Book Reviews
The Goal by Elle Kennedy Book Summary
Get ready for another binge-worthy romance from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy!
She's good at achieving her goals…
College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn't include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she's willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.
But the game just got a whole lot more complicated
Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he's fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn't hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina's heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he'll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

Wish it was better.. It was just okay. Definitely not my favorite book in this series.
Can't wait. Just finished The Score! I am beyond excited for the 4th!!! Waiting a whole year is going to be a struggle!!!
Better than some of the reviews :). I enjoyed this a lot. It wasnt as heavy emotionally as i was expecting after reading other reviews. My main point of contention is Tuckers mom lol. Tucker never stuck up for Sabrina and Sabrina’s last words to his mom were good but needed to be so much more. The girl is a new mom and prob postpartum, we needed more fireworks.
Great addition to the series. I really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t my top favorite, but it still held on as a competitor. I’ve heard that this book isn’t everyone’s jam, so I wonder if being a parent myself is part of that. I loved that this story had real life situations and two leads strong enough to work through them. I always get so crazy when two characters know that they love each other but can’t tell the other person. It’s just unnecessary drama in my head, which is probably why I took a star (but that’s just a personal thing for me). This book was written well with compelling characters. I’d definitely recommend jumping into this book if you enjoy the other Off Campus books before this one.
Loved it!. I loved this book, and almost didn’t read it because Tucker wasn’t really in the first three. But I absolutely fell in love with it, and Tucker. Loved the family they created for themselves. Definitely recommend.
Okay.... Out of the 4 books, this one is simply “okay”. I didn’t feel the love and connection between Sabrina and Tuck. I honestly don’t think I was a fan of her character, which is fine and my opinion.
Could have lived without reading this book. I wanted to read the story of every hockey boy from the team.. until Tucker’s turn. I read because it gives you an alternate reality of what’s going on in the world, it allows you to escape from the real problems and sadly this wasn’t the story for me. It was so filled with real problems that rather than enjoy it, it felt the problems were mine. Tucker’s mom is a disrespectful being and Tucker itself didn’t stand up for Sabrina even knowing his mother was wrong. I finished because to me books are commitments and I don’t like to leave them unfinished. That way I can give a good, honest review. The only reason I rate this book three stars is because it very well written and the story is a good one, just not my type.
Love Tucker. I wish this wasn't the last book. Loved Tucker.
Not sure how I feel…. I love Tuck and Sabrina and Jamie but sometimes the story felt never ending because we’re dealing with the same problem the whole time. Sabrina keeps Tuck at an arms length throughout most of the story and that’s the whole plot; her opening up to him fully and coming to terms with her love. I like their relationship at it’s end point but sometimes the story felt very stuck and repetitive, very well written though
Fabulous. Fabulous book series ! I would read over and over. I became instantly attached to all of the character! Ten out of ten would recommend!
So underrated. Omg I didn’t care about this book going in same way I didn’t care about the Score. In my humble opinion this is the best book of the series. The other guys were boys, John Tucker is a man. I loved every bit of it. Love Sabrina and I want to reread it right now
Tucker is a perfect 10. There could not possibly be a better man than Tucker. He’s my best-loved guy from the series for sure, and he jumped near the top of my favorite book boyfriends ever list. Just wow! I need this man in my life for real. Sabrina takes a little more work to like. She comes off wrong sometimes, but I admired her drive. I also think she endured Tucker’s mom way better than I would have. No wonder Tucker knew just how to handle Sabrina dealing with a mom like that! The story starts out sexy, fun and mostly shallow, but it soon brings on loads of feels and deepness. I was definitely rooting for Sabrina and Tucker to make it. Both go through quite a journey to reach their goals. I really liked and definitely recommend it.
Lovely, but a little tiring. This book was lovely. Tucker is the biggest sweet heart out of all the boys!! But Sabrina is so frustrating with her inability to communicate with him.. ugh. I find myself getting bored over the same internal dialogue. But I enjoyed the fast pacing of the book tho. Overall, I like it.
Just Ok. I loved this series but this one was my least favorite. I wasn’t very keen to Sabrina because of the pervious book, The Score. It was also the most boring story of the 4. The timeline was also off as it took place during the exact same time as The Score. I may be biased though because The Score was my favorite of the series !
❤️. Perfect ending❤️
Not worth reading. Just filthy. Ruined the chance to write a story about a good guy. BTW, promoting anal is disgusting. Who sponsors this writer, George Soros?
My favorite of the Off-Champus series!. This is the fourth book in this series and I have read them all and this by far is my favorite. I love Tucker and Sabrina! There is so much more to the characters then what we had glimpsed in previous books. This book is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone without missing anything. I don’t want to tell you anything but what is in the synopsis because you need to experience this for yourself! It was a sweet, frustrating and EXTREMELY SEXY read! I really enjoyed it! John Tucker is an amazing, loving and very patient man! Sabrina is fierce, intelligent, independent and her story will break your heart! The characters from the previous books make their appearances and it’s fun to see how everything is working out with the guys. I really hope there is going to be a book about Fritz and Summer! If you love new adult hockey romances, then you are going to love The Goal!
My GOAL Review. LOVED this book. It's sad to see this series coming to an end. Sabrina, I wanted to shake her to wake her up at times. Tucker, just adorable from beginning to end. I tried to prolong my reading of this book, but I just could not put it down!
Goal is love. This is book # 4 in the Off-Campus series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. The characters and situations will make more sense to the reader, however, if you read them in order. Plus, it is a seriously phenomenal series! Sabrina has a hot past with Tucker. Even if it is a short one. One that he does not want to let go. If Sabrina could just work him into her schedule... Tucker has always been his own man. Even when a close friend says stay away from Sabrina, he chooses for himself. He knows her better than they do. Now, if he can just convince her to make a future with him. This great series continues as we find out why the last book left us in a cliffhanger. I won't spoil it for you, but I will say hurry to get your copy! Such a great couple, these characters have heat and tenderness almost from the start. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.
The Goal. Loved it. Some scenes really had me cracking up. Shed some tears. Sabrina is super stubborn, but it made her a great character. Absolutely love Tucker. It’s impossible not to. You almost are rooting for him to push Sabrina a little, and wonder why he doesn’t. He just knows her that well. Loved how a lot of the characters from the other books were involved. You kind of get an idea of where they are at after reading their books. Really love Fitzy, but that’s another review for another book.
not a fan lol. literally what is this
THE BEST OUT OF ALL FOUR BOOKS. Tucker and Sabrina are ENDGAME! They are really cute with each other and i love the character development. So sad the series ended already but at least it was somewhat happy. Can’t wait to read the spin-off (Briar U)!!
My favorite….. Love Tuck and Sabrina story!!!!!
A little bummed, but still awesome.. I have been in love with Elle Kennedy’s books for a hot minute now. She has a superb voice and writing style that is realistic and refreshing. I don’t find myself cringing at overused words or cheesy lines. Her plots are authentic, funny, and romantic. But the angst and lack of communication in this plot was so boring and unrealistic. The timeline just kept moving and nothing was achieved. I felt underwhelmed by the end of this book, even though is started off as the best one in the series in my opinion.
Great series. Loved every book in the series
Great ending to the series. If you haven’t read the other off campus books, you HAVE TO! I loved this book because I felt it gave a very good inside view of tucker who in my opinion had t he most mystery out of the gang. Like the rest of the briar books his personality is one you can’t help fall for. I particularly love how realistic and real life this story felt to me and how Sabrina and Tucker’s relationship was unique. I’d recommend to everyone!!
bitter sweet. a small bit of me is sad that the story is ending, but also so happy i was able to read about these characters! off to legacy!
Better than the other reviews suggest. I’m not even done with this book and I can’t help myself. I was nervous starting this book because the reviews were scathing. I loved the 3 prior books but this is by far my favorite. I’ve laughed, cried, and picked my jaw up off of the floor. I never write reviews but I seriously just had to. I got through the others pretty quickly but this I just tore through. 10/10. Seriously.
Not my fave in the series. I got bored with this book because Sabrina’s commitment issues just went on forever. The book goes on and on. And that I hated Tucker’s mom as much as I hated Ray is probably not what the author intended, but she is not at all sympathetic. I do absolutely love Tucker, and I loved Sabrina until about 2/3 of the way through the book because she just wasn’t good to this amazing guy.
Great book. Love all her books💕another great story👍🏻
The goal. Definitely one of my favorites. I love tuck and Sabrina
The Goal. I was nervous to read this because everyone said it wasn’t as good as the others. I was so shocked with how much i love this book. It is my absolute favorite out of all of them, possibly tied with The Deal. Tucker is the sweetest most laid back guy and his patience with Sabrina is amazing. I loved that we got to see how Sabrina’s home life is and why she is so driven to become successful and scared of loving Tucker. Seriously loved this book so much, Elle Kennedy is probably my favorite author after reading these books.
loved it. i am so sad that this series is over with. absolutely broke my heart when they all moved out of the house. it’s so cool seeing them moved on with their life’s
Another Great Read by Elle. Loved this book! Read it in less than 24 hours! Characters with heart that you can connect with while enjoying a well written book.
Good Book. This book was just OK for me. I didn't really connect with the character Sabrina. I felt it dragged on more than the others. The ending was great and I loved the storyline.
MUST READ!!!. So intoxicatingly addictive. I loved it beyond words! Definitely one of my favorite couples within this series 😌💖
Kennedy brilliantly unfolds The Goal. Sabrina James is tough as nails, self-motivated, ready for graduation, and moving onto law school. She's fights her own demons which focus around her less than stellar upbringing, however she refuses to let those dark paths determine her life’s journey. John Tucker breathes hockey through and through. He knows he isn't NHL bound, but hockey provided him a scholarship and his degree is his way out of his struggling life back home in Texas. When the two meet at the local college pub the attraction is immediate but the long lasting evidence of their hook up changes things forever. Once again Elle Kennedy weaves the sorted details of two very strong, determined college students with definite goals and dreams of a better future. Kennedy brilliantly addresses the sexual revolution of the 21st century college female, where hook ups are common and long lasting relationships are few and far between. Unfortunately, when you meet your soul mate it is difficulty to continue denying where your heart beats its strongest. Sabrina James is a multidimensional protagonist as Kennedy slowly peels back the layers of her turbulent childhood. She fully develops James’ rationale behind her sexual hook ups and deep determination to succeed academically to ensure a secure future for herself. Tucker’s past, while not nearly the train wreck of James’, also helps fuel his determination to become a successful business entrepreneur in order to help he and his mom out of the financial struggles they have faced most of his life. The exchanges between these two are fueled with passion and desire yet Sabrina is a protected soul. Kennedy weaves their web developing their characters over the course of time and truly exploring the difficult roads one must travel before arriving at the deep seated truth which heart already knew, but the brain needed more time to figure out. Loved the whole off-campus series and the interwoven story lines building the epic series.
Not as good as the other 3. Man, this one. I wanted to pull both of their heads out of the butts and get this plot moving along. The other three books in the series were so good and this one fell flat.
Least Favorite in this Series. Honestly, I just didn’t like Sabrina. I tried. But despite how much Tucker loves her, I don’t feel like much was really shown of her that was likable. We already knew she was smart and driven. You see more of her life and background, which are definitely hard and you have sympathy for her, but so much of her continues to just fight against Tuck and him wanting her in a way that felt old very quickly. I do like his character. I struggled to like her or even buy that she has this big heart he talks about. I didn’t see that in her. Wanting to better your life and be successful isn’t what I think of as a big heart thing, and when he said that, I was literally trying to remember what in the book gave us that indication for her and could not remember anything. It just was a lot of pages trying to force their relationship when it didn’t feel as believable as the other books in this series, or try to make us think she’s warm and loving, when there is so much actually pointing against that.

Loved it. Amazing story that had it all. Intensity, passion, life diversions. Loved Sabrina and Tucker as a couple and as individuals. Easy read that I will be re-reading again in the future
10/10. I’ve read all the book and I’m now waiting on the next book. I loved them all so much I just had to keep reading on. I loved all their stories and character developments.

Hit for six!!!. I just loved this series, the characters, their relationships and hidden feelings once revealed.
Another great book!. I’m sad it’s coming to an end, I’ve not been able to put the books down.
Goal!. This book was a little slower than the other 3 but still love this authors writing style 💝
love love love. i loved this book. i love the series!! and this book just made me love it more
So in love with these boys. Great story and yes said to see it end. You dont need a review just read it its as good as the rest.
Awesome series!. Really enjoyed the books, glad I finished so I can have my life back!
Loved it. Absolutely loved this series and sad that this is the final book! Enjoyed reading about the relationship between Sabrina & tucker, couldn't put it down!
The goal. Final book in the series (though I think there is a bunch of follow up short stories for all four of the couples). Runs along the same line as the previous books. I liked them for the spicy bits. So hot… Dual POV, mid-high level spice, 18+

Love this book!. Loved this book can't wait to read the rest
Just not as good as the first few ☹️. I loved the series and was looking so forward to this book, but was I ever let down. I didn't enjoy this book and found I was skipping pages.
MUST READ ALERT. The fourth an final book in the ‘Off-Campus’ series is absolutely fantastic! I found myself glued to this book and impatiently waiting to finish work or settle in bed for the night and keep reading. I’m a sucker for books that all tie in together, and seeing each and every one of these crazy hockey guys I’ve grown to adore over these four books find love, I feel so sad that it’s all over. Tucker was always my favourite of the boys, and the wait to get to his book was so beyond worth it. I love getting to re-live the ending of each book with the next. This series is an absolute must read for lovers of romance!!!
Loved it. I loved all the other books but this one was probably my favourite. I think it was my favourite because it just shows a lot of things that people go through that make life harder, I mean so do the rest but this one just felt different. I also was worried that one the baby bomb came out that it would get boring but it definitely didn’t !
HOLYYYY. OMGOMGOMG I LOVED THIS BOOK TUCKER IS DEFINITELY HUSBAND MATERIAL
