This book woke me up, Girl!. I loved this book! I laughed out loud, & my heart broke in a few places. I loved the originality of the wake-up call. Both main characters, Theo & Lizzie, were well-rounded. I loved getting a glimpse of Henry, Vicky & Smuckers from Most Eligible Billionaire. I hope Mia gets her own book, because I loved her as Lizzie’s best friend! This book had just the right amount of humor, heart, sexy times with a little angst thrown in. A perfect Summer, beach, rom-com read!

A little slow and sappy toward the end, but a fun read. This was a pretty fun, and unexpectedly sexy, read. I enjoyed the chapters alternating between the viewpoints of Theo and Lizzie. There were a couple spelling/grammar errors but nothing glaring. Without spoiling anything, I felt like a big portion the drama/suspense part of the story (related to Lizzie’s life) ended when I got about 60% through to the end of the book, which had me wondering what else the story had to offer. I finished reading it and I’m glad I did, as it is definitely one of those feel good books. That being said, some pieces of the story toward the end started to feel like one of those sappy Hallmark movies. I will admit that a part of me hoped that the drama from earlier in the book would make a reappearance. Overall, kept my interest and was an enjoyable read!

Fun read. This was the first book by this author I've ever read. Really cute and funny book. Most of the time, I truly loved Theo and Lizzie. Sasha was one I really wished dire things to happen to. Willow and Mia need books of their own. It was the perfect fun read I needed for my vacation.

Exactly what I was looking for. After having just read a mind blowing, super detailed, high fantasy book I was looking for something that was light, funny and romantic. This was 99 cents at the time, so I thought why not? This book ticked all of my boxes (and even threw some extra spice in there too 😉) and I enjoyed every minute of it. I can’t wait to read the rest of them 💕

The Billionaire’s Wake-up-call Girl. One of the sweetest romance stories I have ever read. The Chemist and Computer Wiz along with humour, lust and learning how to trust and then falling in love. This book has it all. It made me laugh and very sad at times and was more than worth the read. I could not put it down. This is the first book I have read that is written by Annika Martin and I am an instant fan. Absolutely loved the story and I look forward to reading more of her books.

Great read. This author is new to me, and I hadn’t quite remembered their name. So I’ve been reading another series by them (the Bank Robbers) which is so funny and brilliant and captivating that I’m too invested in (and obsessed by) the story. I can hardly put the books down but I decided a needed a break because it was too intense and I was ignoring other facets of my life that needed my attention. So anyway, I thought I’d pick this book up as a little easy to read side book, and holy hell it was by THE SAME AUTHOR and I am just as engrossed and wholly sucked in by the storyline that I read it for 6 straight hours the other night when I was supposed to be sleeping! It was so funny and well written, the characters are so new age and it was so great. This author is now unforgettably in my top 4 writers. No forgetting! They are brilliant and this book was brilliant.

Hilarious, fun and steamy!. I love opening a romcom with great expectations and STILL being completely blown away by it. The blurb alone is enough to make you laugh - a wake-up-call girl who gets to speak her mind to her arrogant boss completely anonymously? Umm, yes please! 🙋🏼‍♀️ The story is every bit as great at I expected and it had me laughing out loud continuously. There are so many parts I want to talk about - (“Looks like Mr. Amazing is being amazing elsewhere.”) - but aside from that, I don’t want to ruin the ride for anyone else. Suffice to say, I’m used to Annika writing witty female characters, but a huge point of difference with this one is that after her initial snarky meeting with Mr. Drummond, Lizzie transforms herself into the character of the ‘Turnip Truck’ and keeps her silence, instead internalizing all of her hilarious thoughts and saving them up for her morning wake-up calls with Theo instead. Hilarity ensues. Sure, you’ll want to beat Theo with his own protective eye-wear at first, but that brooding a$$hole will win you over with his smoothly-delivered dirty talk and his burning need to save the world. His tragic back story helps too. Fun cameos from a certain furry past player and his hoomans, an equally irreverent best friend, plus a nasty witch of a fellow employee round this cast out beautifully. This is definitely a book I’ll reach for time and again if I need a good laugh or a happy ending 😉

Perfect Romantic Comedy!. So much fun and titillation that I read it straight through in one day! I think it is a nearly perfect romantic comedy. Lizzie Cooper is in desperate need to keep her new job as a social media consultant at the staid and austere biotech company, Vossameer. It’s not what she wants to be doing but you’ll find out why later. Now she’s been secretly supplying the Vossameer CEO, “the amazing Mr. Drummond” with his 4:30 am wake-up calls. And the calls are spiralling off script. And Mr. Drummond has taken to hunting down his anonymous “call girl”. Theo Drummond is a strict and domineering boss who has a very concrete viewpoint of life. Everything must serve a purpose, every puzzle must be solved, and any frivolity is a waste of time and resources. Vossameer is No-Fun City. But he is too reclusive in his state-of-the-art chemistry lab/office to realize it. Theo and Lizzie have a lot of depth to them. They are like LEGO Advent calendars; the more of them that you uncover, the more fun they turn out to be! I loved the fact that much of their romance unfolds anonymously over the phone. It increases the hilarity and emphasizes the lust and longing. My tummy was doing acrobatics the whole day, either fluttering in the intense roller-coaster feel of falling in love or nervous for the fragility of that same new love. It was beautiful, but I’m glad Ms. Martin wrapped it up before she killed me. Delightfully well-written! (This is a review of an ARC. My opinion is based on the quality of the work only.)
