Great finish to an amazing story!Where to I start. Beloved left me heartbroken. Beholden made my heart swell and then left it in pieces. Jackson and Catherine had so much on their shoulders and in their hearts. Both had responsibilities, but their love pushed them forward, until it all came crashing down. Catherine had only one request for Jackson and she would be his, totally. How do they come back from so much pain when the one you love is the cause of it? This the second half of Jackson and Catherine's story. Its not an easy path, hearts will be broken, but will love prevail? All I cans say its worth the ride! I would recommend this series and already looking forward to the next book! Happy reading!.Score: 5/5

Corinne gives us a timeless love story full of angst, heartbreak and in the end happy tears...Sometimes there are books that come along that give us a love story that's so raw and realistic that it just sticks with you. Corinne Michaels brought us Jackson Cole and Catherine Pope in Beloved they were both broken souls, not searching for love, because they'd been scared by it too much. Fate dropped Catherine into Jackson's lap not just once but twice. They couldn't fight their feelings and both decided to try again only to have tragedy rip them apart. The ending of Beloved left us hanging in the balance. We didn't know if Jackson would live or die, and if Catherine would have anything left to fight with after being broken down once again. Thankfully with Beholden, Corinne picks up the story exactly where she left off. Shifting us immediately into turmoil and angst with Jackson's POV. Throughout the book she gives us just enough sprinkling where we can truly get to know his character and dive into his thoughts and feelings. Catherine's struggles are realistic and her anger, hurt and betrayal yet again are defining the path that she takes. She has some hard and fast decisions to make throughout this book and though we may not agree we can fully understand her reasoning. I'd be tired of the hurt and want to run too... Neil, Jackson, Piper, all contributed to her decisions, and what I loved most is that when she made them she stood firm. No matter how much inner turmoil she was facing and no matter how much she thought at times maybe she wasn't doing the right thing, she stuck to her decision and was strong in her convictions that this was the right choice. So many times throughout this book I cried for both Jackson and Catherine their struggles are things that most everyday people have to work through, and this is what brought these characters the realism that you don't always see in fiction. Anyone that has been in a relationship can attest that love is not simple, it's not perfect. I've been in Catherine's shoes in some ways and it's never easy getting over and getting past the hurt and betrayals. Corinne's writing makes you feel like these characters could be your sister, brother or best friend. This story will leave you off with a feeling that true love can conquer all if you give it enough effort and time. And that all wounds will eventually heal if your willing to let someone help you fill the voids left behind by those that hurt you in the past. Catherine and Jackson make me believe in true love... and remind me of a popular verse that all of us need to remember once in awhile. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. I happily give this one 5 stars and hope that everyone is willing to give this series a chance it's well worth it....Score: 5/5

Too longLong and drawn out. The fights were ridiculous and done just to make a cliffhanger. A lot of love scenes but not a lot of story..Score: 3/5

OMG 5++++++ starsBeholden is the follow up to Beloved where I became so in love with Cat and Jackson's story. Beholden brings you right back into Cat and Jackson life and everything their fighting for. Corinne Michaels does not disappoint throughout this beautifully written story and gives all that you could want from reading a book. I have to say she had my emotions all over place. I ugly cried, laughed out loud, yelled while reading, and fell more in love with the characters in this book. Love this seriesI was able to read these books back to back. Just because the first ended in a cliffhanger didn't deter me because I completely fell in love with this author immediately. I'll try not to give anything away to those of you who have not had the privilege to read these books, so bare with me. This series is broken out into multiple books. You get to meet all of the characters at one point or another, and they are all involved in each other's lives while being friends, navy brothers or wives. The Salvation series is a must read. Jackson went through a lot in his past, and this book started with an ending from the previous book that left me breathless. Catherine making changes in her life, and Jackson having to deal with that massive life change. They both were lost in one another, that I truly wasn't sure how that would work in this book. But let me tell you... Soooo worth the wait. I loved this series. I'm an avid fan and will continue to read anything she writes..Score: 5/5

Two broken heartsA Review of Beholden by Corinne Michaels Two broken hearts - 5+++++ stars This book picks up where the last one left off. Jackson has been hit by sniper bullets and it looks like his life is hanging in the balance. Mark was with him, so he calls Catherine and she drops everything to fly to Germany to be with Jackson. I never had to live the military life, even though I was briefly engaged to an Army man when I was a lot younger. I thought I was ready for that life and the many ups and downs that the loved ones of those that serve are called to deal with. I have known several women that are married to military men and I have cried with them and laughed with them as well, but none of us really know the hell that these women (and even men) live with on a daily basis when our guys and gals are out 'there' keeping us all safe and secure. Catherine and Jackson have that once in a lifetime love that you never expect to get. Even though he knew love before and dealt with the guilt of losing her, the love that he has for Catherine is sooo much deeper. The pain that they both feel over the lies and betrayal are deeply felt and well written. Sometimes love just isn't enough to get you past the hard parts and you have to let the other person go in order to truly learn what love and sacrifice means. The parts that really stuck with me in this story was the part where Jackson was in the hospital and could hear everything that was going on around him but he was paralyzed and couldn't respond. I know that when my Mother was in the process of passing, I wondered if she could hear us and it gives me comfort to think that she did and that she was okay. Ms. Michaels has a way of tearing our hearts apart and then putting them back together with new understanding and appreciation for what we have. I have such deep respect for all those families that serve our great country, whether they are overseas or here at home, holding down the rest of us. May God watch over each and everyone of them. 5 love is messy stars!!I just finished and I am on a Beholden high! Corinne blew me away with her beautiful writing in Beloved and she did not miss a beat in the follow up. The writing is flawless! This storyline kept me crying, laughing, and screaming! The easy banter between all of the characters allowed me to instantly transform myself into the story. Beloved made me fall in love with Jackson and Catherine but Beholden has engrained them into my heart. Their story wasn't pretty or anywhere near perfect but it's their story. 5 Star phenomenal readBeholden is the fabulous conclusion in the Belonging duet and once again Corrine Michaels did not disappoint with Catherine and Jackson’s story. This book was another refreshing great mix of hot sexy chemistry, with a side of swoon worthy romance, add in some further heartache and angst but with it all turned up a notch in this second book. Beholden picks right up where we left off in Beloved so if you have not read it, stop right now and read no further. In the end of book one just as Catherine is asking for Jackson’s forgiveness for pushing him away, he gets terrible tragic news and once again is having to deal with the loss of a loved in. Not able to take one more loss this time has pushed Catherine away and has had to take care of issues with the security company which takes him to Afghanistan where he becomes badly wounded and we are left with him on the brink of death. With things still touch and go with Jackson, Catherine is at his side, she has almost lost the one man she truly loves and she is not giving him up without a fight. But what these two have facing them is many struggles and is love truly going to be enough to keep them together through both the good and the bad. In this book the author really stepped it up a notch for me with both these characters. I love how we got to see truly how strong Catherine was and all that she had to overcome. It was truly so enjoyable seeing such an awesome strong female lead character holding her own, even at times when she was heartbroken and still in love, she stood on her own. I also loved that she wasn’t like the normal female MC and expecting honesty but not giving it. She was honest with him at all times, even when she knew he would be upset and mad at her, she told him the truth and stood her ground. I must say Jackson was just so much yummier in this one, my heart truly ached for him, once again he must deal with lost and the guilt that he feels responsible for his friends death. And on top of all that he must deal with his own struggles to get back on his feet after being badly wounded. These two characters were so amazingly strong and at times stubborn and pig headed but I loved every minute of it. From the moment I picked up this book I could not put it down. At times I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster with these two leaving me sitting on the edge of my seat and biting my fingernails. Many times I was left heartbroken with my heart in my throat not knowing what was going happen next with these two. Right from the start of this series you could see these two were meant for each other, they just need to get past all the baggage and struggles that followed them and they both needed to let the walls down they built around their heart. This book left me cheering these two on, wanting to see them survive Overall I absolutely love this book and loved this series. I must say I am still a little shocked that this was Corinne’s debut series, the writing was so well done and felt like a seasoned writer. These are an absolute must read and Corrine Michaels just found a new fan, I will definitely be reading anything she writes going forward. Would love to see this duet turned into a series, it held such great characters that truly had stories to tell, ones I would definitely read!.Score: 5/5

Not a page turner…The first one in the series was FANTASTIC! I absolutely loved it and read it within two days. This one started promising but dragged on in the middle - I found myself skimming just to find out what happened at the end. I really think it could have been slimmed down and condensed into one title. With that being said, she writes well and the storyline has not been predictable so I have just bought the first in the next series - hopefully it’s a page turner like the first in this series was!.Score: 3/5

Wow! ROLLERCOASTER!Another 5 star read - fabulous sequel to Beloved. You must read Beloved first! What a rollercoaster of a ride this book was. We are back with Jackson and Cat in this book and I continued to fall in love with the characters. They are a great couple I've been gunning for them from the start. This book had lots of twists and turns, Corinne managed to break my heart and then put it back together again... I laughed and I cried! Both characters are still trying to overcome their personal issues, demons and newer problems in this book, but there is still plenty of passion between these two. The other characters in this book were also fabulous and hopefully this wont be the last we see of them! A wonderful book and you can't beat a good epilogue! 5 stars!!.Score: 5/5
