Dumb. Really dumb story, with boring characters.

It's my type of book.~. I love it, some people might think definitely but I love this book and it's series.

Excellent. I hope the rest of the series is this good.

Really bad. Disgusting, sickening, couldn't even finish it and deleted off my iPad. If you're into rape or having Stockholm syndrome then this book is for you. I can understand maybe one traumatic incident in a book to get a storyline going but this was just continuously bad throughout. I couldn't take it.

Dark but gripping. I despise rape and this book was no doubt centered around it but I was very interested to see how the story played out. Unfortunately, there was little to no character development and it ended on a huge cliff hanger that I was not interested in pursuing. I had really hoped that the main character would come to her senses and build some strength and humility but she instead gave in. Complete let down. I finished this book but will not be reading more.

Eh.. A lot of people find this book disgusting. My issue with it was that it is not well developed and is a cliffhanger which leads to a ton of other short stories. I view that as a cheap way of making money. Wouldn't recommend.

Darkness has claimed him.. A very dark, fast paced hate game and a very hard life for Alexis. The guy she sent to prison for 8 years when he was innocent. Now Rafe was out and coming for her. The ending leaves you hanging!

Disappointing. I generally rate books I merely like "4 *"... So this is saying something. If you have a grade school grammatical education, or a moral compass, this is probably not for you. :(

Good book. It was a great book but, I really don’t like the ending because that part didn’t really resonate with me but overall a very good book.

3.5 stars. The book is fine. Let’s face it ~ we knew going in it wasn’t a literary masterpiece ~ so. The writing is a bit underdeveloped with multiple traumas which could be better tied in. You do root for the characters tho. The cliffhanger is annoying. I read the others chiefly out of boredom. There’s a lot going on. Too much. Needs revision. I’m giving it 4 stars when it’s really 3.5 @ best b/c people are negging it for being dark erotica. That’s the genre and it’s disclosed.

Not my cup of tea. I read the whole book in the hopes that it would improve. It didn't. If you're into very bad things like rape, torture, and abduction you might like this book. If you don't want to read about that, don't get it. The entire book is about rape and abuse.

Torrent. So good and dark, I can’t wait to find out what happens next to Rafe and Alex! Loved the characters, and their storyline, gritty, fast paced, couldn’t put it down. Three cheers for Gemma James.

Suprisingly Spiritual. I read ALOT and have never felt the compulsion to write a review. This book touched me in a way that will stay with me a long time. This book illustrates clearly that life throws us the hardest struggles to endure, breaks us down so completely that we become something different, hopefully better. It shows the fine lines between love/hate, justice/vengeance, pleasure/pain, but to me it shows the ultimate healing power of love.

Awful. This book is just awful. Simply having a back story doesn't mean there's any depth to a character. They seemed like they'd redeem themselves near the end but then the book ended. So, not only was it awful but it wasn't even a full book.

Dark. Wow, this book is DARK. I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Some parts felt rushed and underdeveloped, but overall it was a good cliffhanger-read. After seeing all the books that follow and how much I would be spending to finish it, I decided to stop at one. Genuinely like the author.

Hmmm.... The story was...sadistic, but realistic in its own way. Uh too hardcore for me but for those into s&m and degradation, man is this book for you! It’s a bit hard for myself to stomach because I like to delude myself that this kind of stuff doesn’t happen in society, which it does, thus forcing me to examine my mental state a bit too much. All in all I would recommend that those with fluffier views on romance or intimacy not read this. It’s not a bad book! My tastes just don’t run that way. Very good descriptions and it didn’t leave too many plot holes, plus it was free!

New experience. This is the first dark romance I've read. So I tried to keep an open mind. It actually was a great book once you got past some of the serious issues the characters have. No matter what disturbing things the main character did I found myself rooting for them to know the truth and allow their love for each other to outweigh the anger and hurt and start to heal both of them. No matter how dark the moment love and hope is always possible!

Hole smokes!. This whole serious is awesome! It is a dark romance and for anyone who has any triggers regarding rape, molestation, or physical abuse you may want to reconsider purchasing it. It really is a wonderful book. Great suspense. Very emotional... you will get angry you will get upset and possibly shed a few tears but you will also love the ending of the 4th book: I can’t wait for the 5th book! I never read dark romance books unless this serious and I have sense read several/ they really are great reads!

Meh. Way to fast for everything going on.

The Ending *Gasp*. I can honestly say the book was a steamy and an intense read. I did have trouble getting past one chapter, but once I did it was smooth sailing. The ending made me do the reader scream (a squeal would not satisfy the emotions I was feeling). Yes the book does continue into a series, explaining the cliffhanger, which was honestly a well written one! Will definitely check out the next book.

It's dark and graphic road but worth the trip.

Wow. Hot, erotic, with a lot of danger and some sex play that doesn't get mentioned in mainstream erotica.
