Last Call Book Summary

Running a karaoke bar is no way for an ex-PI to make a living.

Just ask Ridley Brone, a California private investigator who returns to his Michigan hometown when he inherits his estranged parents' multimillion dollar estate. The songs his mom and dad wrote made them rich, but their popular karaoke bar, the High Note, made them famous. Now Ridley owns a bar he doesn't have a clue how to manage, and his every effort seems only to further tarnish his parents' legacy.

But when Ridley's old high school love shows up asking for help, and her husband ends up murdered, the karaoke bar feels like vacation compared to the hard job of proving her innocence.

I had not read this series before and it's not my usual but I enjoyed it. Funny, with enough twists to keep me guessing. It entertained for sure!

I really enjoyed it. The beginning got my attention, which is hard to do. Near the end I tried to tell them who done it. They finally heard me and it became so predictable. And then...I was so wrong!

Loved, loved, loved this read!! No cliffhanger and I sooooo appreciate that. I'm signing up to receive emails so I can get to know the author better and to read more of his stories. This was my first of many more mystery books I've read. Can't wait to read more.

This is my first and definitely not my last read of Rob Cornell. Great plot with good twists and turns. The ending had a bit of a surprise I was not expecting. I did not want to put the book down. Highly recommend.

This one started out a bit too slow for my tastes, and the main female character was undeveloped for a good portion of the book. Once the story got going though, it became an exciting read with interesting plot twists which fill in that missing characters' life and all of the convoluted drama that makes this a great read!

Good plot, full of unexpected twists. A couple of loose ends left untied. Wish I had felt happier and had more closure as I read the last page.
